時間の浪費をし続ければ首!
jikan no rouhi wo shi tsudzukereba kubi!

If he keeps wasting time, I'll fire him!
(kubi also means "fire")

Somehow, my sentence doesn't sound right...

I pass: 間柄(あいだがら)relation(ship)

imeka 02-29-2008 07:28 AM

今あいだがらがありません
Pass on: うしろ -Behind

82riceballs 03-01-2008 02:45 PM

Somehow, I don't think "今, 間柄がありません" makes sense.
I don't think "aidagara" is used for dating relationships.>>> See example sentences

後ろに怪しいじじが立ってるよ!お気をつけて!
There's a suspicious old man standing behind you. Be careful

I pass: 慌しい awatadashii - busy; hurried; confused; flurried

あわただしいねこさんはケーキを食べました。
I pass なまこ sea cucumber :D

82riceballs 03-02-2008 03:16 PM

なまこを見た事も聞いた事もないけど、食べてみたい!
Although I've neither seen nor heard of namako, I want to try it!

日曜日、オレのアリスという刀と子供を殺しました。 怪しそうでした(not sure how to say something seemed in the past  )。please correct me because its probably horribly wrong.

On Sunday with my sword called Alice i killed a child. He was suspicious. :P

i pass : 愛郷心(あいきょうしん) provincialism (i randomly picked it in my dictionary with my eyes closed) :P

I suggest sticking to easier sentences, but it's nice to see that you tried :)

日曜日[particle:に]、オレのアリスという刀[particle: で]子供を殺しました。 怪しそうでした

The particle "to" means "and" while the particle "de" means "by means of." (At least I'm guessing this is how it's typically used--I'm not very good at Japanese) :)

Try not to pick random words out of your dictionary. Dictionaries often have pretty obscure or rarely used words. Try to pick words from a vocabulary list you're trying to memorize. (Maybe pick words from Tanner Becker's Vocab List) However, I will continue w/ 愛郷心

エレナは愛国心だけではなく、愛郷心もあるよ。Elena not only loves her country [has patriotism], but also is her hometown [provincialism/love of one's hometown].

I pass: 厚かましい impudent; shameless; brazen

problem is 'to' can mean with and 'de' can mean in , for example 公園で犬と遊ぶ i play with dog in the park, but forgetting the ni particle was just me being stupid :P because i was thinking about stuff like 「毎日」と「昨日」。 Also i think 'de' being by means of might just be for transport but i really have no clue .

82riceballs 03-05-2008 02:20 AM

'To' means 'with' in the sense of 'I played a game with my sister' (妹とゲームをした。) or 'I ate lunch with my friends' (友達と昼ご飯を食べた). That's why in my previous post, I explained it as 'and'. 'To' does not mean 'by means of.'

'De' can mean 'at [someplace]' but it can also mean 'by means of' as you already know for transportation (see Denshi Jisho - Online Japanese dictionary.

\'De\' can be used in multiple other situations.
e.g. 鉛筆書いてください Please write in pen
バス行く to go by bus
寝不足病気になる to get sick because/due to of lack of sleep

...not to mention a billion different usages I have yet to learn :D

ところで、日本語はどこで学びますか。By the way, where to you learn Japanese?
