Is this ok?
watashi wa ringo kuu tai. - romaji
わたし わ りんご くう たい。 - hiragana i want to eat apple. - english Is it ok to speak like that? I mean, does it even sound normal to Japanese lol...? I pieced it up using what i have picked up so far lol... |
No, it doesn't sound normal. But I like your post because you did your best.
Real Japanese : 私はりんごが食べたい。 Hiragana : わたしはりんごがたべたい。 Romaji : Watashi wa ringo ga tabetai. Remember that the particle 'wa' is written as 'ha' in hiragana, but it's pronounced as 'wa'. |
Quote:
りんごがくいたい ringo ga kuitai "I want to eat an apple". note: "kuu" is a very rough word, you should avoid using it in polite conversation. |

Hmm... tabe does sound better than kuu. ありがとう ございます! arigatou gozaimasu! |

こんにちは ( five kana ) Konnichiwa ( double n ) |

minna! ringo ga man kuu tai! みんな! りんご が まん くう たい! everyone! i want to eat 10,000 apples! Here, ringo and ga is a noun each, man kuu tai are the verb, am i right? Does that sound ok? I mean, in a less serious context like talking to a close friend. Of course i won't try to tell a stranger that i want to eat 10,000 apples lol... |

One of the hardest things in Japanese for native English speakers is counters. Five apples isn't ご りんご It is りんご ごこ (りんご五個) Five people ひと ごにん (人五人) Five fingers ゆび ごほん (指五本) Fun stuff, huh? |
Thanks for the reply guys, guess i need much much more practice, i'll be back... next time i'll be much better MUAHAHAHA!
|
Of course you will!
I think one of the most important...if not THE most important...trick to language learning is not being afraid of making mistakes. My Japanese friends in Japan would sometimes call what I spoke ジョン語 as I accidently made some humorous errors and assumptions in the language, but I would always say "Tell me when I make a mistake"... Unfortunately ジョン語 had some cache' and some of them would use my mistaken Japanese when talking to me, so some wrong words got to be bad habits. |
