Kagemusha - Akira Kurosawa -

I bought that movie just a few weeks ago and I loved it.
Though the directing needed some better adjustment.
The actor who played Shingen was marvelous and even was more closely similar to the actual Shingen than that fat Shingen people keep showing about.
I didn't like how they depicted Yamagata Masakage-san. I expected something else, just not that guy. I loved that he was funny, just that he didn't appeal to me as a Yamagata Masakage kind of guy. Maybe a Sanada Masayuki, but not a Masakage, anyone know what I mean?
I also found that it sucked that we couldn't see the riders at the end of the movie get shot, Kurosawa had to do it off screen, I mean, what the hell?
Of course, you can just press pause and put in its place the final battle of The Last Samurai, that should be satisfying. Sort of.
I have the new Criterion version that includes the Uesugi Kenshin scene. Awesome, yet, I ALSO didn't feel that was Kenshin-san.
Perhaps the Heaven & Earth Kenshin was more appropriate, but not this guy.
discuss.
