So has anyone here heard of this legendary band before??

BOØWY were:
(V) Himuro Kyosuke
(G) Hotei Tomoyasu
(B) Matsui Tsunematsu
(D) Takahasi Makoto

BOØWY were one of the biggest bands in Japan during the 80's and featured Hotei Tomoyasu and Himuro Kyosuke among others (both of whom have had successful solo careers, both in Japan and beyond...). This band starting the band movement that produced bands such as GLAY, Dir en grey, Luna Sea and The Mad Capsule Markets.
They were the first band to perform at the then newly opened Tokyo Dome, where they performed their last concerts in 1988.

Awesome!!! They were the first Japanese band I got into!!

I've always seen them as two bands though:
1. BoØwy - The studio band (80's pop rock with loads of keyboads etc)
2. BoØwy - The live band (just straight out rock)

mostly the ones you mentioned and a couple other but i cant remember the names i will have to find em again
