I think Jrock because it sounds different in a good way and the singers are overall better. I can't find anyone who I think can sing in the US besides Elvis, or has any real passion. In Japan, I find more talent, like from Gackt and Klaha, for example. The music is also more exciting and I like the way lyrics are structured better, too.

It could be something lost in translation, but Jrock lyrics never sound meaningful to me, usually a little childish or silly.

Jrock lyrics sound WAY more meaningful than western lyrics. They're so deep and meaningful sometimes I can't understand them. :p

I chose J-Rock, because most of the J-Rock I listen to has singers with very powerful voices and the music sounds alot better to me. It's almost a tie between the two, though.

Western rock! It just has more meaning and I know of a deeper history than Jrock does to me~ Plus a lot of Jrock bands are exactly the same, sound the same and look the same [some western rock bands are like that, but less so.]

Surely it depends on the band no?
I've never heard J-rock... but I can't stand the My Chemical Romance, Fallout Boy type of rock. My kind of rock is Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Foo fighters etc. |

We can't see much of the JRock lyrics, but according what someone said, rock seems to have better lyrics... more meaningful. Ah and about the age of bands, JRock bands seem to be so young for a genre who came in the '80. |
