one more thing i like on Rammstein is that the often play woth words and pronounciation

for example in this song:

YouTube - Du Hast - Rammstein Lyrics and English Translation

at the beginning he yust say "du has[s]t mich"
wich means: you hate me

later he says "du hast mich gefragt"
wich means: you have asked me

in german the difference between hate and have is just one more 's',
(in the 2nd person singular)
"du hast", you have
"du hasst", you hate
moreover it sounds the same because you don't speak the 2nd 's'

but that you can only understand if you speak german. in the most tranlations the silmly write "you have" all the time

theres another band named "Die Ärzte"(The Doctors) wich plays with the words too. there at least one of the most popular bands here but they never got famous outside of german speaking countries because it's boring if you don't understand the text and the text isnt the same anymore if you translate it
This is one of the songs you can understand even if its translated
YouTube - Die Ärzte - Rebell (English subtitles)

last one are "Die Toten Hosen" wich means 'The dead Trousers'
this is one of the newest songd called "Strom"(electricity)
YouTube - Die Toten Hosen - Strom *ofizielles Video*
(didn't find a subbed version)

sweet thanx for the info ill keep that in mind:vsign:

you dont have to
nearly noone in non german countries knows that, because you only have a chance to know if you understand german or someone tells you

well at first i am german and i hear much music so i istened to many songs very carefull

moreover if i hear something i keep an eye on in with wich words and pronounciation it is said because this sais more than the words itself, in my oppinion

at last im always interestet in the backgrounds of thomething if i hear a good band i try to get their history. helpfull to that is a tv show in germany called 'MTV Masters' wich reports about a spechial band for one hour every week

if you add these things it's very easy to say something about the texts of a special band

i also was on some concerts of all three bands

By saying 'he is russian' I ment that the GUY who is singing in the video Excessum posted IS russian. If you were the Rammstein fan like you were talking about, you'd have no problem to realize that it wasn't Till Lindermann singing there.

Pexster 03-22-2009 12:56 AM

I think she knows.

Hmmm...........okay, you have to ask her about that.(even though you have the evidence in front of me)>.<" You win for now.
