And you would know something like this because...what..you work at the studio, evanescence or linking park? Or is this merely gossip or something you come up with all by yourself. If a band shares a genre with other bands, it's not that weird that they create a similar atmosphere (in this case gothic).

I just hate it when someone speaks for an entire group of people. Acid, when you say "fans have only one argument: they sell a lot" you are simply wrong. How about "I greatly enjoy listening to their music" or "I appreciate their instrumental abilities" ..Are those not reasons to like the band?? So much of your 'statements' are forms of (over)generalisation and prejudice.

I like Evanescence. I see where you're going with this Acid. They do have the same sound as Linkin Park in a way. Nightwish is an amazing band too! lol. I really like the newer Evansecence cuz it's different then their other CD's. Many bands like them are trying different sounds out and are finding that the different sound is better than the old. That's just me so.. =]

They sounded like Linkin Park with Bring Me To Life...all that I've heard says that wasn't the band's choice though. Wind-Up wanted them to have more of a "pop" sound, and had the band add the rap. If you heard the older versions of it, and it sung live now, you wouldn't hear a rap.
heh, the last concert I went to, the audience started singing the rap. It was kinda cool :vsign:

Amy Lee isn't compromising as much as she used to in her new album. It does sound a lot like the old album, though...which is disappointing. But, it's still good :)

me = evanescence freak. I started singing in the first place because of them...and now I've had some professional lessons under my belt ^_^

I think evanescence ROCKS BIG TIME! Bring me to life might be similar to linkin park but if you take all the songs from fallen and all the songs from say meteora they just don't match up. Evanescence does use the Gothic Genre. In fact technically I've been told they fall into a group called Nu metal. Irrespective of where they fall into, Amy Lee has some outstanding vocal capabilities. My Immortal had no equal song anywhere in linkin park. The lyrics, the piano, the chords and the video were just insane!

I love "the open door" as well. I've got both their CD's and their bonus tracks from "Anywhere but home". I think they're really good. "Snow white queen" was a great piece of work and I love "Lithium" to no end. I feel they do full justice to both their lyrics and their music based on the tunes they come up with and the vocals that they use to support it.

I like them too I'm listening to wake me up inside at this moment!!!!!!!!
