Paintball In Japan
hey guys, ive read around that paintball is pretty popular in japan? Is this true? =o!?
|
Not any more. A couple years ago new laws were introduced which prohibited the import, manufacture, or possession of any device which can fire a projectile more than 200 feet per second. Since paintball markers are capable of speeds higher than 300 fps, they are now illegal.
Paintball is still played on US military bases in Japan, where Japanese law does not apply. |
Whhat the heck....are you SERIOUS?..oh man...sigh...my two passsions...japanese culture and paintball....T_T.....unable to coexist.!!

There are still tons of survival game groups, and there is even a big one played in a fairly local park twice a year. There are still guns that are legal for the sport, but no makers in Japan as of the time being.
Most of the stuff is pretty expensive though, as there aren`t that many makers with stuff fitting in the Japanese regulations. Prior to the law changing it was pretty easy to find cheaper guns. Current regulations for paintball in Japan is 177fps, and most places set the regulation to 170... Airsoft is a lot more popular and easier to find. MOST of the survival games played in Japan are BB, it seems to be harder to get permission to hold paintball events in parks. |
Paintball is really popular in America, and is ridiculously fun.
But laser tag is nearly as fulfilling and it requires no dangerous weapons ;) |
When using paintball ammo, it hurts when you freeze the ammo and set it to maximum PSI's. It's almost like live ammo. XD

Frozen paint balls will get you removed and banned from the establishments.

In fact most higher end paint has an anti freeze like substance. It is a huge myth that people freeze paintballs. In actuality trying to freeze a paintball will actually make it incredibly brittle. Meh, Paintball has been my life for the past 12 years and I've tried laser tag and it wasn't nearly as fun. The sting of getting hit with a paintball creates half the experience imo. You don't have to fight the adrenaline from clouding you judgment in laser tag not nearly exciting, it's the same case with most woodsball too, just too slow for me.

it would be pretty cool to go play paintball in japan. :)
