Hi all.Did you watch the world cup final?
Congratulations Spanin! Btw,coach Vicente Del Bosque was tossed in the air by members of the team after winning. It is called 胴上げ(douage) in Japanese and very common ceremony. But I don't know the English word for douage(If you know, tell me!) I know Koreans do douage.I also have seen some douage of Spanish soccer teams. But I have never seen douage in other countries. Is douage common in your country? If you live in Spain, how old and popular douage is? |

This is something that can be seen in the US. However, at major sporting events, it is very common for the winning team to dump a cooler of water/Gatorade on the coach instead.

Thanks for your reply.
What is the name of the '"Something" in English? Have you ever seen that after MLB World series(or play off) or NBA final? In japan, they do always DOUAGE in team sports. And they also do that to congratulate someone who passed the exam or graduate from their school. It is also not rare that a groom is tossed in the air. http://www.google.co.jp/images?q=%E8...N&hl=ja&tab=wi |
