Game console prices?
 

Hi all, I have a friend going to Tokyo next week and he will visit Akihabara. What is a good price for a standard PSP Slim? A Nintendo DS?

In other words, how much money should he bring?

Er besids that I can't help. Japan has kick ass shops and personaly I would bring all the cash I have.

Bring at least the equivalent to $200 USD. That will cover the system and a game. At least it should.

probably, but your friend will need a little more. Since he is buying the original games, and system, I guess, he/she may run into a problem, playing the original came on the American version of the system.

The DS is region-free, but there is no advantage to buying it in Japan. It's the same piece of equipment. PSP is also region-free, except for UMD videos, which are region-coded. So you couldn't buy movies in the US for it.

I am seeing it at about 230 dollars on Amazon Japan...but know that the PSP Slim isn't THAT much different from the original PSP.
