A conspiracy? I don't think so. Unless your a super fan you wouldn't buy a whole other console just for that one game. If you are a super fan, the reason you probably got a PS3 over and Xbox 360 is probably because you thought that Final Fantasy would only be on the Playstation, therefore they wouldn't need to buy another console to get that game.

not really, MGS4 owns every game released on the XBOX to date..
And Versus XIII is still exclusive,

Not to mention the next GTA, and Rockstar's LA Noire

My above statement about instilling a fan-base within Xbox owners is the only logical reason..

They don't need money.
With the success of FFXII and Revenant Wings, TWEWY, FFIV (which is about to be released in US).
FFVII:ACC comes out sometime soon, that'll be another great source of income..

I'm sticking with they're trying to create a PS fan-base by making Xbox fans want more and hopefully buy a PS3 to play FFVSXIII and future FF games..

The aim of any business is to make money, whether they NEED it or not is a different matter. I'm sure Square Enix are doing great money-wise, but ultimatly their aim is to make more money and more profit than previous years. Why would they care if people bought PS3s when they can get just as many sales quicker and easier if they put it on both consoles?

Twenty?! They're only on XIII. They've got 7 more Final Fantasy's before they (if ever) release twenty. IV is suppose to be coming out sometime next week if I remembe right. And I don't think Revenant Wings did all too hot in the States, it was released on the DS, and the main character was yet again that annoying kid, Vaan.

I believe "TWEWY" refers to the game "The World Ends With You", a game not set in a Final Fantasy realm.

IV was released Dec 20th in Japan, it did fairly well...

Revenant Wings also did fairly well, in it's own right...
It wasn't a major title.... therefore it wasn't expected to be ZOMFG...

I read a while back that Square is going to make their own handheld system and their own store in North America. Maybe if they release that system, they won't spread out their games as much like they are by putting "Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep" on PSP and "KH: 358/2 Days" on DS.

I personally think the fanbase is a bit too small for their own system. Releasing on Playstation would be the nicest though :mtongue:

Yeah, I think so, too. They don't really seem to have quite enough games to have their own system. Especially if they limit it to a handheld. I heard that a while back and haven't heard anything else about it for a while, so maybe they changed their minds?

Square doesn't have the funds to design, produce, and market their own proprietary hardware. They would likely go bankrupt if they tried this.

Oh, have you seen or heard about the new Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy figures that were shown at the San Diego Comic Con? They look awesome! In KH, they have some Soras, a Mickey, and two Rikus; in FF, they have FFXIII, some mini figures, and some Crisis Core play arts! :rheart:
