What games should I buy them?
Ok I have two kids age 6 and 9. They have birthdays coming up and they love anime based video games. I love anime but am not much of a gamer. We have a gamecube and a ps2. We already have Naruto clash of ninja 1&2, samurai champloo, some dbz games, zatch bell and one piece. Can you suggest which ones I should buy but remember their ages.

DDR Extreme!!! Endless hours of fun for u and the kids. Plus it will were them out. :D
Yu-gi-oh capsule monsters for ps2 is kind of fun. Pokemon XD is for the cube and they will like it if they like pokemon.
I second pokemon xd. Very good game, and doesn't stray too far from the original hand held formula. Shaman King mabye for ps2, though I don't have it, I wanna get it.
Super Mario, fun for all ages! Most Nintendo exclusive made games really appeal to kids, as well as adults..
Sonic Mega Collection, for sure.
Thanks guys! I did just buy Shaman king and stashed it away for my 9 yr.old. I like the sounds of this Pokemon game. They have some for their game boy. Keep the suggestions coming. And tell me if you think it is worth it to get them a Nintendo DS or a Psp and which one is better?
psp has more features, but if u just want gaming i'd go for teh DS
Totally ds. If you have kids who want games, totally ds.
DS is way better! And the games I suggest are anything Pokemon and maybe even Digimon if they like it because Digimon is awesome, better than Pokemon to me.
PSP has some brilliant games on it, like Power Stone and Loco Roco (I think it's called that O.o). There's an InuYasha game coming out for either DS or PSP too.
i recomend full metal alchamist crimson river .......its a good anime based game ..........its a ps2 game .......it adv. game .........and if your kids loves action games i recomend badly gungrave ........its just awesome .....its for the ps2 as well ..........:)
I'd say PSP, but i'm a teenager, so I'm intrested in the features of it. I have a buddy who has both, but he still plays most on his PSP, this are more mature games, so i think for small children it's best to take on a DS.
And for tips for games: Viva Pinata It's really funny and stuff, though it isn't manga/anime style, it's just a regular game for all ages, it's famous in the us. Maybe you know it ? |
For ppl who love excellent graphics/animation/alittle violence here and there/shooting/war games, i'd reckon Gears of War. its the action-packed game of the year!! Wooo!! Yea.. my sig gives a brief idea of it :P

As for gears of war maybe for my 9yr old. Do you think he's too young for that. I am going to get a DS I think for Easter for them. It's a bit expensive to buy two so they'll have to share. |
hmm.. i think he could be too young for that lol. cuz if i had to guess an age restriction for gears of war, i'd say below 13. Even for ppl under 15, i believe they should play under PG XD so maybe u could save tt for later :P sry abt nt being able to help mor.. >_<
It's ok thanks. The kids are having fun watchin this. They know they
re going to get a ds but I'm not going to tell them which games. They get all excited with every new post. My youngest says he thinks super mario would be a good idea and digimon. |
Hey there little ones! how're ya! Maybe big brother over here could some over and play with u guys sometime, eh? :ywave:

P.S. I'm only 15,maybe I should be calling them so little, though I do to the Elementary School kids I tutor,9th grade is fun! |
Yus, digimon is good :3 And yep, ds is the way to go for the little ones.

They boys have the Samurai Champloo game for ps2 but they are having problems with it. I'm terrible at playing video games and can't help them. Any suggestions.
Funny Story At Christmas they got Naruto Clash of ninja 2 so my sister in law and I decided to try it. We spent 2 hours trying to beat Gaara, We even had the manual out and couldn't get anywhere. 6yr old comes in and asks to try. He beat him in one try, humilliating me and my sister in law. |
The younger generation just has that undeniable knack for playing video games, lol.
hmm.. fuu, can u maybe specify what the problem is like? is it a glitch in the game or smth? |
It's quite possible that samurai champloo is just too hard for them, aswell. You see, Samurai champloo(the series) was aimed at a slightly older audience, and I would think the game to be the same,(I haven't played it myself though)
The game was rated T so I have no problems with and the kids usually have no problems. They have beaten the lord of the rings games and other ones like that. It's that there having trouble beating this one women. I guess I don't have the specifics. I'll ask them when they get home from school and get back to you.
you guys were right. I talked to the boys and they said it was just to hard for them beat some of the characters. They'll keep trying. Thank ya.
I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but a lot of kids nowadays like that Harvest Moon game and Katamari.
get them the Animal Crossing for DS.. its pretty fun, got it for my little sister.. she loves it!
I just got shaman king for the ps2 and am at the final episode, and I can truly say that your kids will like it. However, the game does stray completely from the original story around half way through the game. It's kind of one of those alternate universe stories. There a few minor points within the game where things can get hard, but you do get unlimited continues if you happen to get game over.
The system is a tactile one, except, when you battle with yoh, you actually get to control yoh and the game becomes sort of a fighter. You'll see what I mean once they start playing. Also, one last bit of information. ESRB rates games according to age, not by gameplay and difficulty, but content. Just in case you didn't know. I've actually run across a few E games where I found the game impossibly hard for a 6-7 year old. And I've also found some games, rated mature, where it was definatly playable(difficulty wise) but were filled with tons of gore, blood, cussing, and other suggestive themes. I might suggest renting games before you buy them if you're not sure if your kids would be able to play it. Sometimes the backs of games don't give a real impression of difficulty, or any impression of how a game is played at all. Take Genji for example, it basically says control 2 characters in an epic story. It's really alot more in depth than that. |
Now I can't wait for them to open Shaman King.Hahahaha! Maybe I just want to try it. Harvest moon huh? I'll check it out.
What about Kingdom Hearts? It's a Disney anime hybrid right or am I confused? |
It is, but I didn't mention Kingdom Hearts because it may be too hard to play for little kids. But I could be wrong. :D
Final Fantasy 9 is great too, possibly the best ff game ever yet, or at least, to me lol
Get them Final Fantasy.. that game bewitched and enchanted me.. when i first played it as a young kid.. wow, totally blew me away.. final fantasy is a part that makes me today, i think ive gotten much smarter over the years due to playing FF for many reasons :)
I stick with my suggestion of any of the Sonic games.
Ok. I have picked up a sonic game.
So thats Shamanking and Sonic, I am going to get 1 more for each of them. Final fantasy huh? I have a vote for #9 any others. |
Final Fantasy 7 , 8 and 9 are the best Final Fantasy games ever. So any of the three.
I first played FF7 when I was 10 yrs. old, that is when it was released. I begged to get the money, and I got it a few months later. I agree with Vesperd-kun's post completely, Final Fantasy changed my views of life and made me smarter. There are so many morals and lessons on life to be learned. Especially in Final Fantasy 8!! :D |
10 is a good one, don't get 10-2,you may not want your kids seeing them go nakey when they change to their ultimate form, even though you still can't see anything, and all that Al Bhed(which I've mastered)couldmess up their brains.12 is fun but it may be difficult for them to understand,I think there's a lot more stuff on this than others so it could be difficult
Alright I got final fantasy 7. Should I give that to the oldest or the youngest? My Youngest has started talking about wanting a Full Metal Alchemist game (he prtends he is Mustang all the time, quite funny to watch) Would a FMA game be appropriate? I can't thank you guys enough for all of your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
