Wii or PS3?
 

So i've been dying to get rockband lol but i don't know what system to get it for. Should i get it for the Wii or PS3? Which is better? Oh and does a Xbox dance pad work with an Xbox 360?

If you already have a Wii or PS3, just get it for your system. However, I played Rockband on the Xbox 360...which is what I'd recommend. That is, if you have one, otherwise, don't buy a new system just to play Rockband. Waste of money really...

I'd go for which ever has the online play mode.

If you discover both have this feature, I'd go for Wii. Purely because I have it on Wii.

seriosly go for the ps3 version. the wii version sucks. its a port of the PS2 version and it lacks SO much (not graphics) its unreal. Dont waste your money, get PS3.

Yeah i agree ps3 games are a bit expensive lol XD i don't mind if the wii doesn't have the online game thingy i just want it lol

I find the are less games I want for Wii than I do for my PS3. I only have Okami and Smash Bros on the Wii. Okami I played once and a half over. Smash brothers im still halfway through the campaign.

Personally, I'd get Rockband for the PS3. Better graphics, I want a PS3, and I'm sort of boycotting Nintendo products right now. ^^; Also, I think Guitar Hero sucks total butt on the Wii for the reasons of AB and C, but that's what I prefer.

For your situation, buy it for the Wii. It's easy because you already have a Wii and you seem like a Wii person. Invest money into your Wii more than any other system of our generation if you plan to play a lot of games. :)

i would say a Wii. Ps3's arent as glamorous as you would think. not enough titles in case you want to play something else after rockband, unless you like metal gear Solid since numero 4 came out.also, even though the games are on Blu rays the loading time is shit. they move the game data around to fit the entire disc which slows down loading time, idk correct me if im wrong on that guys.

Wii's are surprisingly fun and have a large number of titles. Super smash bros. melee, Bleach, rockband (obviously),etc.

PS3 is just so expensive and it doesnt have enough exclusive games. The only good thing about it is that it's online gaming is free. Wii mostly has kiddie games, but is fun to play with someone. If you want games that you can have fun playing alone, go for PS3 but if you want games that are child friendly and fun playing with someone, go with Wii. I still go for XBOX....

if i had to choose, i'd have to go with PS3.

i don't see how i can pass up playing FF Versus XIII.

The main reason not to get Rockband or Guitar hero for Wii is the lack of DLC. That's what makes those games so great. The game is pretty much useless when you get bored of all the song. I remember back on PS2 my step brother actually modded his PS2 JUST for guitar hero 2 so he could burn the game with custom songs.

PS3 has an incredible amount of exclusive games. They're just not gears.

Graphics? who cares about graphics when your watching multicoloured rectangles/circles fall towards you?

Thats what annoys me about this new age of gamers, especially the casual's.

Like I said, there's no Downloadable Content. Rockband would never have became as big as it did without the DLC. Even if there was DLC for it, there wouldn't be enough space to store your songs. With Nintendo's download policy you wouldn't be able to rearrange them either. You'd end up having to swap out SD cards.

Wii has a couple of great games such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy, but it also has tons of rubbish.
PS3 has MGS 4 and Resistance: Fall of Man both being great exclusive titles, and it also has big third party games such as Call of Duty 4, GTA 4 and Resident Evil 5.
PS3 is more powerful than the Wii, but the Wii has more inovative gameplay.
But, to be honest, none have really impressed me that much yet, both have alot of potential which they didn't take advantage of it yet. I'm not as interested as video games as I used to a couple of years ago, the few video games I have been playing lately are on SNES and Mega Drive, I am more interested in retrogaming at the moment.
I own Wii, don't own a PS3 and don't wish to, I'm more interested in Xbox 360.

Exactly. I had 2 mates that had rockband, one for Wii and one for the 360. 360 seemed a lot better, so I can imagine the content etc is all fine and good with the PS3 too. Wouldn't buy it for the Wii even though I love my Wii dearly. And it's cheaper for the Wii.

Yea as far as my understanding the DLC is the same on 360 and PS3. I know GH had some free songs released exclusively. Like 360 was given the Halo 3 song, PS3 was given God of War.

You do realize almost all of the games are on both systems, right?

I'm more interested in the XBOX 360 exclusive titles, not to mention XBOX 360 is cheaper and has XBLA.

"Serious gamer" is subjective now a days. Different gamers look for different things but can still be serious. On person's tastes may not fit what you think makes a "real" gamer, but that just sucks for you.

O_o why does it suck for me? i have a Wii and its awesome. i've had a PS3, but things on it were just too expensive so it denies it complete awesomeness.

serious gamer... i dont think its subjective at all. i was just being general. serious gamers in general are ones who really get into their games, whatever it may be. gaming for fun is just a bit of fun. serious gamers get real disappointed when they cant pass a level, whilst gamers who game for fun just dont give a damn.

Wii is better when you play with a lot of people. Then Wii is a lot of fun... but alone....... well..... I sold her cause of that. Don't have the time to make big parties with more than me XDDD

I've played GH and RB on multiple Wiis, but it's so lagged (yes, the TV option-thing was adjusted in the options) and sometimes freezes on the Wii (at least on the ones I've played on). That's why I wouldn't recommend it.
