Talking Just imported my first game, weeee! - 01-24-2010, 04:32 AM

So I've basically ensured that FF13 holds a special place in my heart by making it the first game I've ever attempted to complete with my totally basic Japanese. It's fun because a year or two from now I can replay it with better language skills and it'll feel like a whole new game. I don't know if you've ever had that moment but this is my third language and it's pretty cool when it happens. Does anyone remember their first import?

Metal gear solid 4.
I ended up playing it twice through, once on Big Boss Hard and once on Big Boss Extreme.

Unfortunately it wasn't great for learning much Japanese since I spent a lot of time lying in the grass in silence

But I also have ordered FFXIII, and very much look forward to playing it.
When it comes to import games that you want to play not only for fun, but language learning too, RPG's are great.

The last import RPG's I played were 龍が如く 見参 and 白騎士物語, both were very fun for me

幻想水滸伝Ⅱ
But it would be a stretch to really call it an import as I bought it in Japan while on a homestay just before heading back to the US where I actually played through it.
I had almost no money at the time, so it was a big deal to be able to buy it at all. It is indeed one of those games that will remain in memories forever.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.
