Gaming in Japan. -

Hello there,
I'm about to move to Chiba, next week to be precise. so i have a few questions hoping someone could help with. > is there any place to get US region games? mainly PS3. online store is ok > does most western games still have english option after localized in japan? thanks in advance if anyone could help. =D can't wait for the flight. |

I don't get why the second poster is talking about AUS and Wiis unless there's something I don't know, but...
PS3s are essentially region free. Japan/Asia NTSC games will work on an American PS3 and vice versa. This is confirmed by myself and many others. Unless you have a specific reason for buying North American games, you can just play the Japanese game on your PS3. As far as language goes, it really just depends. I'm playing the Japanese version of Modern Warfare 2 right now, and it has the same English voice acting but with Japanese subs (but with Japanese menu options), whereas I've heard of games (like Uncharted 2) that have Japanese voice acting. For other reference: PAL games on the other hand are a bit trickier. It is possible to play some PAL games on both North American and Japanese PS3s, but it has to be while using an HDTV, otherwise you'll get screen tear or no picture at all.
