Depends. Some I like. Others are annoying cuz I was stuck in a certain area and the tune never leaves your head for about 3 days. D :

I spent most of my childhood playing this game... and my parents had to listen to it. Try it, bet you can't take it for more than a minute. :)

hahaha yes! I used to think it was a wierd thing that I liked it so much...especially the music from final fantasy and chrono cross...I have all kinds of orchestrated/piano/techno versions of VG music, not to mention the OST versions too. when I found them, I figured - well, I must not be the only one, so maybe it's not that wierd.

The music is what gives the game it's charm. Well not only music also the sound.
If it's get stuck in your head then it means it is irritating or just to freaking good to forget(Still remember Final fantasy VII Music when you beat some monsters xD) Also The music is often used to set up a mood in the game. A scary game don't get that scary when you are playing without sound on(Even though we are talking to music. Music is sound so :p ). A happy game doesn't get happy if you don't really show it with music. Myself I see that the music has to be in the game. otherwise the game looses a bit of feeling. simple enough. If you take a while and think about it. What is the thing you most often can remember from a game. Myself I remember most of the music to most games. |
The Mother series has my favorite music in a video game of all time. Wierd yet cool. I also love mario and zelda music.

I'm quite partial to boss battle themes in games, such as Final Fantasy, Sword of Mana, Castlevania etc. There's just something so cool about boss battle themes..

Final Fantasy music is awesome, yet original. The same goes for Megaman, especially the X series. The soundtracks of the various levels and certain bosses, ranging from electric guitars to techno, are all unique and oh, so stimulating ^_^ I think the fundamental key lies in the originality of the music and simultaneously, also offers a sense of nostalgia. Though ironic it may seem, I've always had that sorta impression. It's so Japanese-like, if you ask me XD~!
