Sorry, but if you knew basic Japanese, you wouldn't be calling yourself -chan.

annachan23 11-07-2008 04:37 AM

Keaton421 11-07-2008 05:35 AM

annachan23 11-07-2008 09:36 PM

I would like to learn Japanese very much but is it possible to do so through text form, I was under the impression that pronounciation is vital to the language, or am I mistaken?

That's true, but i think we could use some pronunciation symbols or

word/syllable keys, like for example, the "Sa" from Sakura is pronounced like

the first syllable of the word sarcastic.

Keaton421 11-08-2008 03:16 AM

If you're going to teach Japanese to people, you should let them know that you don't actually know Japanese.

Sakura does not sound like Sum.

annachan23 11-08-2008 03:42 AM

^^ i guess your right^^

unless you have a really thick tagalog accent, then ya, "sum" sounds like "sam".

but "sum" is usually pronounced "suhm".

Well, we don't sound like any asian language obviously, and when it comes to pronouncation of things in english, filipinos sound similar to spanish or mexican people.

superheel 11-08-2008 07:06 AM

Well yeah, our language is very different from spanish but we are talking about accents and pronouncations here. I mean, our accent when we speak english are similar to latino people when they speak english.

Mga pre, let's spread the pinoy pride, haha.
