Exchanging through universities?

i was wondering if its possible to get into a uni in your own country , for me its Australia , and exchanging to a university in japan.

Any information regarding this would be helpful ^^

That would be awesome... I know they're not actually exchange students, but a bunch of Asian students come to live in my area and go to my college. I see them all the time walking around campus, in classes, on the bus, around town, etc. I don't think there's a university exchange program though, unless I've just never heard of it.

Absolutely. My Uni had an exchange program with Waseda U. in Tokyo.

It's a great way to get an intro into Japanese life and Japanese crash course.

You've never heard of exchange programs? There's thousands of exchange programs set up between universities all over the world. I'm pretty sure they're more common than high school exchanges. My university alone has at least 9 exchange programs with Japan.

Oh my god, my city has been living in the dark. I don't know, I should check with the other university around here before I come to drastic conclusion...

Arikado, you live in California so I'm 100% sure that your college has a study abroad program for Japan if you attend a CSU or UC. If you're attending a community college then you'll have to wait until you transfer to a CSU or UC first. It's too late to apply for a year program now if you attend a UC (I don't know about CSU, it depends on the school) but you should still be able to apply for a semester abroad. I've already applied and have a pretty good chance of doing my graduate work abroad at the University of Tokyo (Osaka University and Tohoku University as backups) for a year starting in July 09.
