Universities In Japan

Can anyone Tell/Refer to me ,What are japanese Unis Known for?

MMM 01-01-2009 09:53 AM

You understood the question better than I did, Yuko.

Japanese universities are known for places Japanese people get college degrees.

Wagamama 01-01-2009 01:51 PM

hmmmm,What i meant was what do japanese universities specialized in?for example what course is recognised in japanese universities(Eng,Langauge,Science etc)

Keaton421 01-01-2009 01:53 PM

That would be up to the individual university.

Wagamama 01-02-2009 06:27 AM

Then i will specify,Tokyo university?

University of Tokyo is primarily known for being the number one university in Japan and all of Asia. It is also in the top 20 universities in the world.

Well, does anyone know about universities in study abroad programs? Do you know, by any chance, if Kansai Gaidai is getter that Kyodai Kaikan (Kyoto Consortium of Japanese Studies)?

Im guessing japanese uni life is the same as british uni life?

sex, alcohol and allnighters (doing work that yuo should have been doing instead of partying?) hangovers/missed lectures and becoming serverly in debt?

Or is that just what university is all about?

Oh and you get a bit of rolled up paper at the end and get to wear a silly hat.

Hmm.. I won't agree thats "just what university is all about", i mean, its a personal choice isn't it? You can choose to live like that at university anywhere, including Japan. But from what my cousin told me (not from Todai, he failed the entrance :), went somewhere small instead), there isn't anytime for that kind of "fun" life. It was studying all the way till there is no tomorrow... of course, unless you don't care about failing and being suspended by the university

Japanese university must be tougher than mine then because Im living the typical student life style and I aint failing.

The probably outdated reputation of Japanese university life is more how Shad0w describes. The hard part is getting in, so there is a lot of partying and drinking as young men look forward to the salary man life.
