Can I be a Private english tutor with a work permit without a BA?

I am going to be going to a Japanese language school that offers a part-time work permit.
My question is basically, once I obtain this permit can I tutor people (legally) in english on my own or there some other procedure needed to do so?
Also what is the difference between the work Visa and permit in this regard to (legal) private English instruction?

Depends. If you're on a student visa, you can legally work up to 20 hours a week, including private tutoring. Many people do it. Go for it. If you're on a working visa, you can work however long you like! :)

I think it's the difference between full- and part- time. I know you can't work full-time on a work permit. I had one, too, when I was a student.

Thank you!

For the explanation.

I just need to report the income to the Tax Office correct?

Live in Japan

Yes. I am going to finish my BA there. Which is why I cant just apply to be an English Teacher straight off.

i think you report it but you wont have to pay taxes on it if you dont reach a certain amount.

pop down to the place where you got your gaijin card and they should be able to give you details.
