taking part time job while having undergraduate level?
 

Hi..
Maybe I'm new to this forum..
I'm samjah, 16 years old (almost 17), still in senior high school.
I planned to go to Japan to continue my undergraduate level. And I'm usual with dormitory live (since I live in a dorm here.. ^^)
It's not my purpose to bombard with questions, but I just want to know:

I'm going to take between Osaka, Tokyo, Kyoto, or maybe somewhere else near sapporo area in taking undergraduate level, which of them has the most friendly environment?
Is it possible to take part time job when taking undergraduate level there?
and What part time job is recommended there?

I'll be waiting for responses happily.

If I were you, I'd be more concerned about my Japanese proficiency than my part-time job possibilities.

I'm studying japanese too here... (about tenses, etc)
I know it won't be enough.
but, I'm sure that with at least 6 months experience there I would have been able to speak and understand quite well...

I graduated with a degree in Japanese and then moved to the Osaka area and was pretty lost for the first four months or so. I had to learn the Kansai dialect(s) to understand the people around me. That took time, but I had patient and helpful friends.

then how about part time job and universities.
It really bothering me, because it is one of many consideration to go to Japan.

You should study English more!!!!

Your English (written) is very asian and if you are studying Japanese then I guess you want to be trilingual!
I don't know what your first language is, but if Chinese then you might learn quickly due to the Kanji point.
If Korean then you should also find it to be not difficult.

If you are Asian looking, and can speak basic J, then you can secure many low end jobs.
But as you pointed out, you are only young and for this, in any country, without special skills, you will get bum jobs.

You can work a certain number of hours/week with a student visa if you obtain permission from immigration and the school. Talk to your school for more details.

dude i dont want to be a wet blanket or something but u do understand that although japanese universities lets in students from other countries easier as compared to native students,lectures & exams are all in japanese(not simple one)japanese at a standard where even natives might have a problem or two.6 months aint gonna be enuff,u are gonna be competing with ppl(japanese) who have spoken,written and heard the language for all their lives.I also have been hearing from my mom(japanese) its getting harder & harder to find jobs in japan even part time ones especially u without any special skills or qualifications.however with that said You might be able to get jobs like washing dishes etc jobs that dont require much japanese.From my experience i think the kansai(osaka,kyoto etc) ppl are basically more friendly and outgoing.Just my 2 cents u should prolly head down to japan and have a holiday or something explore the place before really deciding on it.Its beautiful place no doubt with nice people but its definitely not perfect.Good luck friend=)
