Music Industry in Japan

こんにちは。ミケイラです。I'm interested in working with international bands, so I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about the Japanese music industry. Like how big it is, how abundant jobs in the industry are, etc..

How big is it? It's considerably bigger than many would think.

Jobs are abundant in the industry and 99% of them would naturally require at least the Japanese proficiency of an average native speaker, which is all fair.

That's an interesting diagram. What variable does it use to illustrate the size? Number of sales, worth of business for the country, number of artists or other? etc

I am pretty sure I saw a very similar (if not the same) diagram, and it was the gross worth of the business.

Wow! ありがとうございます。That helps so much! Where did you find that? And yes, I'm learning Japanese and German right now :)
