Internet Café & Stay In -

Hi,
I am just curious since I came around this video today YouTube - ‪Japonsko: americká stratená dekáda‬‎! Its about economical history of Japan and crisis predictions to American economy. But what I want to ask is about those Internet Cafes which are talked at about 1:35. Do you really have these where you can have a little room(or closet with computer and you can stay there overnight and sleep there? Is it quite frequent accommodation around the country? 20 pounds sound like quite high price to me. Don't you think? I mean in comparison to standards of that accommodation. |

Yes, these places do exist. From what I've heard from most people, the main demographic are foreigners looking for a cheap place to tide themselves over while waiting for better accommodation (These rooms offer much more space for luggage than the standard capsule hotels), and natives who like to get sh!tfaced and miss the last train home so they catch some sleep here.
20-30 USD, that's an absolute steal in the city. A room to stay in with internet and that takes your luggage for that cheap? That's incredible. It sounds to me like you're considering this as a type of semi-permanent accommodation (like vacation), in which it isn't. All it is is a roof over your head for one night. That's how most people treat these places. The guy who lived there is a rare case. My photos from Japan and around the world: http://www.flickr.com/dylanwphotography |
