Just tell me what you want pictures of and I`ll take them. :D We own a place here in Japan, and it is fairly normal.

Thanks annelie nee-chan, it's JapanForum after all. Just wanted to prove my worth. But right now, I don't care if anyone posts here or not, or if I'm appreciated or not, I'm simply doing one of the things I love, talking about Japan.
Nyororin, it'd also be a pleasure for ya to post up pictures of every inch of your home, if possible XD Otherwise, at least the essential stuff will do :vsign: |
Another very informative thread CN , good work :D
Well I live in a normal mansion/apt. 2 rooms, one is western style the other is japanese style ( 5 or 6 tatami room). the living room, dining and kitchen are rolled into one :D. The shower and the toilet is separate so I like it. Also I like my location cause its located in a very residential area. Not the big apartment complex, but "real" houses. Most of the apt blg. are 4-5 stories only. |
A picture says more than a thousand words so without any delay whatsoever I present you a japanese living room (interior designer level of course). The main thing to notice is the low rise furniture like CN mentioned in his first post and also the lack of cluttering. It's a simple laid out place and shows understated elegance in placement. Sooo captivating
![]() what is wonderful to note is the lighting effects too. Paper lampshades are all the rage in japanese style furnishing. I remember reading a story somewhere that even stated that both the japan fan and the paper lantern were invented in Japan from a challenge by the ruler to a peasant asking him to capture flames and wind in paper. Of course this is probably an old wives tale but we just have to admit it looks great in the living room. |
What is better than one picture??? Two pictures of course silly! So here goes... Simplicity and elegance in a tranquil dance of beauty...

And for a Japan special on JPF.... the japanese Tea house. Japanese Tea is only rivalled in popularity by JRock :D... It isn't surprising then that they set aside a separate place where you can drink tea to your hearts content!
Isn't the colouring just beautiful? Sorry for the big photo CN, but it was definitely worth it! ![]() |
*Sigh*... It's impossible not to like this...
