building jobs in Japan?
Hi i am a Tiler/stonemason from Brisbane, and would really like to move to Japan to live and work, just enquiring to see if it is even remotely possible,
thanks to all who reply Sinisha |
How about going there on a holiday for a while to see if you like it?
And if you are between 18 and 30 you could get a working holiday visa wich will allow you to life and work in Japan for 1 year. In this time you could see if its possbile to find a job in your field. Also getting any job beside teaching english is not easy in Japan and will require alot of work. |
You are better off coming for a short term to see if you like it here. Generally speaking, it is hard for foreigners to get non-professional employment in Japan. In nearly all cases a university degree is required to get a long-term work visa.
Being a stone mason is not considered a profession in Japan. Also, you will need a fair amount of Japanese language to do construction work. Another interesting thing is that the measurement system used in Japanese construction is a different standard, which takes time to understand. I have seen foreigners doing construction at different places, but they were all married to Japanese wives, which is an option many people take. |
