New documentary looks at Japanese election practices -

In Japan, candidates who run for office generally don't rise naturally from the grass roots. Many are molded into politicians by extremely organized election campaigns. This process is on display in a documentary by 36-year-old film director Kazuhiro Soda. The movie, "Campaign", tracks the run of a candidate for a municipal assembly election.
