what would U suggest me 2 do to find a creative work there? - 05-24-2007, 10:40 AM

Hi, everybody:
I'm trying to move to Tokyo and I'm searching a job, a creative one.
Do you know any way to achieve this result?
Is there anybody who knows a japanese ART DIRECTOR to talk to?

Tokyo is packed full of artists. You're best chance I think would be to try to go to one of the art schools. Overall Japan is full of artist and amateurs. You are better off finding a job doing something else first just to get in the country and hope you get noticed.

-u see i wana do art as well in japan T_T and i knw its gona be hard to get accepted-so im plannin on doin a job art related-maybe u can make commercials and stuff start small then wen u hit big go and take ur chances-as for art directors....hmmmm talk to art teachers at the skool
maybe can get ins on that^^

Well I know that if you want to do Art professionally in Tokyo, which I'd like to do someday, do need to go through the proper schooling first, and have a Bachelor's Degree. If you don't then they won't even hire you.

A lot of Art schools can be taken in the evening with night classes. They even show you how to draw in their manga style. It would be so cool. (Also a lot of websites show you were professional mangakas went to school.) That can be helpful information to follow.
