Was that the news report on NHK with some dumb as shit Chris at the shut door going 'I had no idea!'. You hadn't been paid for two months you moron! Tons of people have been going on strike!

And then the news caster going 'It seems bad for the teachers, but the students seem worse off' HOW they came to that conculsion I have no idea, like sure the Japanese students loose a huge chunk of pocket change, but the teachers and staff don't have money to buy food and are being kicked out their appartments because nova's not paid their rent.

I have been reading that some may not have enough money to fly themselves home, as they have been without a paycheck for 2 months. What a mess!

That is very true. If you are australian tho, quantas is offering a special rate for nova teachers to get back home.

The rest well they will have to row home or something.

It's one thing for a corporation to go out of business, but when that corporation only hires gaijin... wow. Someone is going to be paying to fly all those teachers home.

wow, this is actually shocking... Does this mean that my chances of getting a job as a teacher for a couple of months is out of the question? My friends had only recommended NOVA to me...

It is shocking as NOVA was probably the world's largest language school. But don't you worry because there are hundreds of other language schools in Japan that could employ you.

Possibly - with over 4000 gaijin teachers at Nova, I am guessing there are more teachers than teaching jobs over here right now

It is a complete mess - I have a few friends who were nova teachers and all but 1 had to leave Japan because of what has happened

hmmm this is a bit sad. this world is getting tougher and tougher and more competition to be the best everyday.
