Probably where you live in relation to a train station will have a big impact... takes me under 3mins to reach my closest station but that comes at a (big) price

Good point, I realised how important trains are when visiting Japan, thanks! I will take that into consideration.

yeah, with the insane humidity during the summer, the short walk saved me from drowning in sweat haha!

Most cheaper apartments are probably 10-15mins walk from stations as land costs are gonna be lower
