As far as my experience tells me and what my cousin (local Japanese) told me, street race do occur, but at a very very rare occurance. The whole initial D style down hill drift race doesn't happen at all.

You may be able to find a couple of track event and drift event, but nothing illegal and on the street....

I'm very sorry, but i don't believe that´s true. Tokyo is the largest street racing city in the world, and that's a fact. I just think some of you locals don´t want any gajin to come and race down your streets. And even if its true, that you never seen any street racing, they must be really good hiding them. Since the cops having large fees.

i am a japanese living in osaka. i think there are some street racers in osaka. i sometimes hear they are racing in the night. if you want to see their racing, you should go to kobe because there is a famous mountain where some people have races in the night. one of my friends told me it so i am not sure they are actually doing it.
by the way, i like driving but not racing so please do not ask me to go there with you when you visit osaka.
however, it would be nice if you want to hang out with me without racing.

Thats a "FACT"? I don't know where you got your facts from.. I did say they DO have it, I didn't say there is none, but rare

Tracks are so easily accessible that a lot of people just do it on the track in Japan. Your fascination from movies showing drift scene in Center Gai doesn't exist. Its true that you will see a random straight line rance on the Shotou express way, but its really rare

Since i drive in and around towns, its not always possible to drive maximum speed. I have been caught for driving 170 on a 70 speed road in Stockholm.

Have you seen "Get away in stockholm"?
YouTube - Stockholm Getaway

I was young when they released this.. And now im one of them..
