Thats the thing though, Ive made loads of friends on here and I havent done a single thread like this myself.

You wouldnt walk around your home town (or anyone elses) wearing a sandwich board saying "Hi I'm looking for friends!"

People would run a mile.

I don't see it as a failure. I simply figure that people are using PM - after all, the eventual means of communication would be PM or email.

Shadow: No disrespect but you have no idea how difficult it is for a shy person to make decent friends. It took me 3 years just to find one decent friend. There are a lot of sites on the internet where you have to put an add up to get people to contact you. So I do not see the harm in people putting up a post here. You might have made a lot of friends here without making a post but that is probably because you are outgoing. Quite a lot of people are shy so they do not find it so easy.
