If a hacker were to get access to your account they could use it to post links to adds, malware, or viruses that would get your followers clickthroughs. This is more effective than the bots that start their own twitter blog and spam with fake tweets.

What is the point of twitter? You make a profile, post a picture, write to people.. can't you do that everywhere?
