English Baroque -

I love the Italian masters, but they are not the only masters of the Baroque period. So I give you a few examples from England, and one of her most favored sons.
Henry Purcell 1659-1695 Purcell is buried adjacent to the organ in Westminster Abbey. His epitaph reads, "Here lyes Henry Purcell Esq., who left this life and is gone to that blessed place where only his harmony can be exceeded." Funeral March for Queen Mary II (also known as the theme from "A Clockwork Orange") Here are links to a few more of his works.
