I love the Italian masters, but they are not the only masters of the Baroque period. So I give you a few examples from England, and one of her most favored sons.

Henry Purcell 1659-1695
Purcell is buried adjacent to the organ in Westminster Abbey. His epitaph reads, "Here lyes Henry Purcell Esq., who left this life and is gone to that blessed place where only his harmony can be exceeded."

i'll keep trying too but, it's kinda...strange that no-one likes baroque music in my scool. that's because... i go to a music scool. oh, the irony...

Now that's ironic, usually there are some who actually like (or love) Baroque music.

Yeah I know, when I first got back to liking Baroque music after a four year hiatus, I felt a little put off, but at the same time attracted. The music I put up are pieces no one usually is familiar with and therefore unbiased comments would likely show up.
