Chapter One—Diem Perdidi Carpe Noctem (I have lost the day, Seize the night) It was raining again. Ferric sighed. He hated the rain. He was sitting against the wall, trying absentmindedly to smooth out his disheveled black suit with his hand, not expecting it to work.. "We’ve got another," Domenikos said suddenly, appearing in front of Ferric. Ferric looked up into Domenikos’s stark white eyes and stopped smoothing out his pants. "But I’m done for the day," Ferric said matter-of-factly. Domenikos sighed as Ferric went back to trying to smooth out his pants. "Boss Amos wants this guy dead. He's an upper level," Domenikos said enticingly. Ferric looked back up at Domenikos with his cobalt colored eyes. "Guy? Upper level? It’s not an animal?" Domenikos laughed deeply and pulled Ferric up by the wrist. "It’s a vampire. His K.C. is nearly 50." "Wow, a kill count that’s half my own. Amos is being generous for once," Ferric said, dusting off. Domenikos shook his head. "I don’t know why, though, after what you did." "What I ALMOST did, Nikos. Almost did. I didn’t do anything." "As good as. If Raemis hadn’t--," Domenikos began. "Hadn’t made a fool of himself. His obsession is annoying at the least," Ferric said emotionlessly, but smiled. Domenikos smiled wryly back. "Who’re we after?" Ferric asked, brushing past Domenikos. "Dead guy’s name is Tin Vittorio Adeuzo. Vampire, class 4, has killed 37 demons, 5 shape shifters, 4 humans, and 1 vampire, which is recent, and also why Hermes requested Boss Amos’s company. Our company. Us, specifically." Ferric raised his eyebrow. "He's killed one of his own? A vampire who's killed a vampire? ," Ferric smiled slyly, "Sounds like fun. Lemme take him on my own." "Cocky tonight, aren’t we? But listen to me. He’s got something special. A unique ability." "What is it?" Ferric asked, leaning against the blank wall. "Complete and total seduction." "Complete and total what? That’s one I’ve never heard. You’ve gotta be kidding me if you think that’s a problem for me," Ferric said nonchalantly, running his hand through his messy, uneven black hair and trying to straighten it, "I’ve killed 17 Psirens." Domenikos laughed and turned towards Ferric. "That’s why we call you Heartless. Now get going." "Where to, jerk off?" Ferric asked, standing upright. "Lately, you know…," Domenikos began softly, stepping towards Ferric and sliding his hand through his soft black hair, "You don’t even appreciate me anymore." Ferric pushed Domenikos’s hand away and walked past him. "Knock it off, Nikos, and tell me where this damn Tinsel guy is. I’m in a fighting mood now." "Of course. Dead guy’s in England. Locale 47, or in the allies if he’s not in the Locale. Due date, tomorrow noon." Ferric nodded, then disappeared. He appeared in a pitch black room—vampire Locale 47. I love when things are dark like this, Ferric thought and smiled. Suddenly, he felt another’s presence, and he prepared his body for a fight. Suddenly a voice whispered in his ear, "There's no need for fighting," and Ferric's body tensed up. There was a hand on his shoulder, and a hand on his waist, forcing him to turn towards his attacker. Ferric summoned all his strength and pushed away from the other guy. Just then a light went on, and it took Ferric a moment to adjust. His eyes focussed on the guy a few feet in front of him. He wore an unbuttoned, white collared shirt, revealing a slightly tanned body, unexpected of a vampire, and black jeans. He had extremely tossled grey hair that was sticking out at odd angles, a slightly oval shaped face, thin eyebrows, and turquiose-colored eyes. When he pushed some of the hair out of his eyes, Ferric noticed that his fingers were long and his nails were black. He was the exact same height as Ferric. Taking a quick breath, Ferric asked, "Are you Tinsel?" "It's Tin," he said in a rythmic voice that had a slight accent to it, and he was suddenly at Ferric's back. "And you're Ferric," Tin whispered in Ferric's ear, and Ferric felt a chill go through his body, and he couldn't quite breathe right. "Don't...don't...say my...name...don't...," Ferric stammered, trying to catch his breath, trying to get his body to move. Tin slid his fingers through Ferric's hair and again whispered softly in his ear. "Ferric...Adoraemus...Catharsis..." Ferric's body shuddered, and he did not know what to do. He did not know this feeling, this craving...this total lack of control... "Ferric...," Tin whispered yet again, and Ferric could not even find his voice. He had lost all control of his body now, and he did not even want to acknowldege what his body was screaming for...Tin's touch, his scent, anything that was him... Tin turned Ferric's body towards him and took Ferric's chin between his thumb and index finger, bringing Ferric's mouth close to his own, and as he did, Ferric's heart beat faster. "Ferric Adoraemus Catharsis--the demon they sent to kill me. The infamous Heartless beauty...," Tin said softly, his accent increasing slightly, "And I've got him, defenseless, in my arms." Tin brought his lips gently to Ferric's. Ferric's body was filled with an indescribable pleasure as Tin began deepening the kiss. Ferric shuddered again as he felt Tin's hand stroke the back of his neck. A moment later, Tin broke off gently, and a small sound escaped Ferric's lips. Ferric did not want him to stop, not ever, but he couldn't find the voice to tell him so. Tin smiled and kissed Ferric's neck. "You really don't want me to stop? Well, let's find out." And Tin met Ferric's lips again very gently, and Ferric regained control of his body, but instead of pushing away from Tin, Ferric melted into him, and deepened the kiss, wanting to feel that blissful numbness again. Tin pulled away, and moved to Ferric's neck. "What...?" Ferric tried to speak through a slight sigh as he felt Tin's kisses on his neck, followed by a quick prick. His body began slowly growing weaker and weaker, filling with something that could only be described as sleepy, quiet, blissfullness, and then everything went black. |
Chapter Two--Ab Absurdo ("from the absurd" said of an argument that seeks to prove a statement's validity by pointing out the absurdity of an opponent's position)
"Yo! Ferric! Get the hell up," Domenikos shook Ferric awake. Ferric opened his eyes and shot straight up to his feet, despite how weak he felt. "Where'd that bastard go?!" Ferric yelled, and looked around him. He was standing in the middle of a field, and it was a little after dawn. "Where the hell am I?" Domenikos laughed. "In a field." Ferric spat on the ground. "No shit, idiot." "My, someone's angry," Domenikos said mockingly. "Well yeah; the jack ass got away, and he nearly killed me...!" Ferric said angrily and touched his neck. Two already healing marks were all that were left behind. I should have a dead body to go along with them..."He got you, didn't he?" Domenikos accused. "No," Ferric replied stubbornly. "Yeah, he did. He got you, Ferric! Ah, this is funny!" Domenikos laughed and clapped his hands together. Ferric pushed him to the ground. "Shut up." A moment later, Ferric disappeared, the words Don't follow me on his lips. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ "My beloved Ferric, wake up please," Raemis cooed, stroking Ferric's hair. Ferric sat up and grabbed Raemis' wrist forcefully. "Ow, stop being mean," Raemis said, pulling his arm away, but Ferric wouldn't let go. "Don't ever touch me again, you fucking freak," Ferric snarled and pulled Raemis' arm up. Then he lifted his leg and kicked Raemis' chest, knocking him to the ground. Raemis frowned and stood up, his long red hair falling around him, one hand on his chest. "You're not in a very good mood today. Boss Amos sent me--it's 2 hours past noon, where's you target?" Ferric remained silent as he stood up from the couch and stretched. Raemis ran his pale hand through his hair and sighed. Ferric walked past him, into the kitchen, and got himself a glass of water. He sat at the kitchen table. "Did the target get away?" Raemis asked quietly, turning to face Ferric. Ferric closed his eyes, remembering what had happened...Ferric had never felt that way, not ever. He opened his eyes again and downed the whole glass. Raemis sighed again. "Well, it's okay. Boss Amos isn't supposed to present for another two weeks. You've got time, Ferric darling. Everyone's gotta make at least one mistake," Raemis said, appearing at Ferric's side and placing a hand on his shoulder. Ferric jumped up, his glass smashing to the ground. "Dammit! Don't touch me!" Ferric yelled, shaking off the out of place fear that had made him jump when Raemis touched him. "You're jumpy, Ferric. What did that guy do to you? I didn't think there was anyone who could spook Heartless," Raemis said, putting his hand to his forehead and smiling slightly. "I'm fine, Raemis. I'll kill him tonight. Tell Amos not to worry," Ferric said emotionlessly. He waved his hand to the side, shooing Raemis away. Raemis nodded and disappeared. Ferric sighed, and ran his hands through his now sleep-provoked messy hair, trying to straighten it out. How the hell did this happen? I don't understand. How did he control me like that, how did he make me feel like that? This guy is gonna die tonight. I don't know how, but I'm going to kill him. I'll sneak up on him in the alley outside the Locale--he won't be expecting another hit the night after...or will he?Ferric slammed his fist down on the table. "Dammit, what if he's expecting exactly that?!" "Stop," Ferric whispered, running his pale hand through his hair again. "Think." He closed his eyes and ran several scenarios through his head. If Tin came at him from behind again, he'd start counting in Russian so as not to hear that voice, and duck down and swipe under Tin's legs with his own. He played everything from Tin having accomplices ot Tin breaking down and pleading for his life, through his mind. Then he stood up, stretched, took a shower, and put on a pair of baggy dark grey jeans and a black t-shirt. Ferric disappeared and reappeared in the ally outside of Locale 47. He leaned against the wall, waiting for Tin to appear, keeping his ears alert for any and all sounds. Twice vampires appeared, and he had to crouch down so as not to be seen. An hour later, Ferric took a few steps away from the brick wall to stretch his legs, and when he leaned back, it was into someone's arms, and warm breath was at his neck. "Ferr-," Tin began, but Ferric was quicker. "Razh! Dvah! Tree! Cheetee-ree! Pyet!," Ferric yelled out, ducked from within Tin's surprised grasp, and took Tin down with his legs in a mere moment. As Tin disappeared, Ferric yelled out, "You're not gonna get me this time, you little prick!" Tin appeared on the other side of the alley, about 10 feet away, laughing in the same rythmic way he spoke. "Hey little half-demon. Did you come back for more?" Tin asked mockingly, easily dodging Ferric's next attack, appearing again on the opposite side of the alley, where Ferric previously stood. "I'M NOT A HALF DEMON!" Ferric said angrily, glaring at Tin. It's pointless to go at him head on. How can I get close to him without getting caught in his stupid powers? "I'm sorry. Three-fourths demon. But your blood was by far the best I've ever tasted," Tin said in a somewhat sincere tone, licking his teeth slowly. Ferric's eyes rested for a moment on Tin's sharp canine teeth, and memories of their last encounter flooded back to his mind. "You're going to die tonight, my friend," Ferric said in a twisted voice. Tin smiled again, and Ferric's insides turned to ice. "After our last little meeting, I think we're either very good friends or extremely bad enemies," Tin remarked in a slightly sadistic tone. Ferric disappeared and reappeared behind Tin, grabbing his jaw-length grey hair forcibly and whispering in Tin's ear angrily, "That was all you and your freaky little power." Tin laughed softly, then twisted so that Ferric's arm nearly broke. Ferric let go, but quickly drop kicked Tin again, and while Tin was still on the ground, he pulled out his silver bladed athame and quickly knelt to hold it to Tin's throat. "My, my. my, you're a straightforward kinda guy, aren't you? Well, before you go and off me, let me let you in on a little secret...," Tin said, then his voice was that melodic whisper again, "...I wasn't using my powers the second time our lips met." With a smirk, he disappeared from Ferric's grip, leaving Ferric enraged and speechless. [/b] |

Chapter 3 "Ex Nihilo Nihil Fit ("nothing may come from nothing")
Tin appeared back in the locale, and waited for a few seconds, to make sure Ferric hadn't followed. He sighed, and ran his hands through his grey hair, purposefully messing it up even more. "Zezare, you can come out now," Tin said tiredly. There was a few seconds of silence before a black cat darted out and rubbed against Tin's legs. Suddenly, the cat's form was distorted, and a woman was standing in its place. She was pale, with skin like snow, and she had long black hair that reached to the bottom of her back. Zezare smiled and touched Tin's hair affectionately. "What is this new look in your eyes?" She asked in a voice that was soft and faintly like a purr. Tin shook his head. "No look. I'm just...stressed." Zezare pulled back her hand. "You? Stressed? Whatever for? I didn't think you ever got stressed." Tin thought for a moment, and Ferric's face flashed through his mind ・his striking cobalt eyes; the way his hair was so uneven yet orderly; the look in his eyes that first time they met, when Tin no longer held him under his spell; even the harsh way that Ferric spoke. Tin didn't really feel like killing this guy. He wanted to know more about him, why he was the way he was. But if Ferric kept coming after him, Tin might have to kill him, to preserve his own life. Yet...he was actually having fun... Zezare frowned, then she took Tin's hand in her own and blew on it gently. Tin smiled. This was Zezare's way of bringing Tin out of his thoughts, and that she felt left out or sometimes just wanted him to acknowledge her. "Tell me what you're thinking, Tin dear," She purred. Tin opened his mouth, then closed it again, before answering,"I知 thinking that・ wanna give a heart to Heartless." Tin turned toward his bedroom and slowly walked into it. "What are you talking about?" Zezare asked in confusion. "I don't know," Tin replied, falling gently onto his bed. Zezare followed, curling up in Tin's arms. "Heartless Catharsis?" "Yeah," Tin said quietly, stroking Zezare's hair absentmindedly. "Aiming a little high, aren't you?" Tin smiled slightly, "Yup." Zezare laughed softly, then stopped. "Ah, but what is it that makes you think you can give this cold person a warm heart?" "I don't know. A look in his eyes," Tin said simply, continuing to stoke Zezare's hair. "He wants to kill you," Zezare pointed out. Tin paused. "Maybe he doesn't. Maybe he's just lonely..." Zezare closed her eyes. "Maybe." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When Tin woke up, Zezare was gone. That's just like her, Tin thought, getting up and stretching. But I thought I heard a sound. Tin could tell it was a little after noon, even though the blinds and shades were closed. "I'm fairly certain Ferric won't attack today. I'm sure he's..." Tin broke off when he heard another sound, this one a little louder, like someone had tripped. That's not Zexare...Not bothering to put back on his shirt, he strode out of his room. Suddenly, someone grabbed him from behind and had an athame at his throat. Tin tried to jerk out of his arms, and the athame slid across his jawbone, cutting deep into his skin and causing blood to trickle down his neck. Tin used his full force and launched forward, landing gracefully on his hands for a moment before completing the back flip to land on his feet, facing his attacker. Standing there holding a silver-bladed athame was none other than Ferric. He was dressed all in black, and had small chains wrapped around both of his forearms. His deep cobalt eyes peered straight into Tin's light turquoise ones strangely, and some of his dark black hair was covering part of his eyes. Tin didn't move. For once in his life, Tin was the one captivated by another. "Don't you have some sort of stupid-ass remark?"Ferric smirked, glancing at the blood that had now reached Tin's shoulder and was slowly sliding towards his chest. "Aaah...," The sound escaped Tin's lips, and licking his lips, he regained control. He wasn't used to wanting someone this bad. Do I want Ferric? Tin asked himself, but gave no answer. "I wasn't expecting you. You're relentless, you know," Tin said softly, avoiding Ferric's gaze. "I take pride in it. You, however, have no pride, you little f**king liar,"Ferric said angrily, gripping the athame tighter and raising it defensively. Tin raised his eyebrows. "When did I lie to you?" Ferric was behind Tin and had the athame to his throat so fast, Tin didn't even see it coming. "Last night! You said...But it wasn't true! You used your powers on me the entire time!" Tin laughed gently, and turned his head towards Ferric. "No. I wasn't lying. I never lie,"Tin said with a smile. He could smell the faint essence of the woods on Ferric, and thought, I wanna do it again; I want to make him see... And Tin began to put Ferric under his spell again. "Put the athame down, Ferric,"Tin whispered rhythmically, and the hand Ferric was holding the athame in pulled away from Tin" neck. "Ferric...I know you can put it down. I know you want to,"Tin whispered again, touching Ferric's hand gentland turning towards him.. Ferric dropped the athame, and it clattered to the ground. Tin looked in Ferric's eyes again, but only the power of his seduction spell reflected back at his. Tin wanted to see the look Ferric had given him the first time they met, when despite Tin withdrawing his powers, Ferric still wanted him. But Ferric's blue eyes stayed slightly vacant, just like the eyes of all who fell under Tin's spell. "...Ferric...I want you to answer a question," Tin spoke gently, stroking Ferric's soft black hair. Ferric closed his eyes for a moment, and in that moment Tin looked at him...so defenseless, so helpless, so needy...and he wanted nothing more than to hold him. Tin wrapped his arms around Ferric and held him close, on hand on the back of Ferric痴 head, the other around his waist. Ferric instantly melted into Tin痴 bare chest. "...Ferric...," Tin whispered comfortingly in Ferric's ear, as if Ferric were crying. Then softly, barely audible, he asked, "Are you...lonely...?" Tin held Ferric closer even still to his body, taking in the faint smell of the outdoors in Ferric's hair, before withdrawing his powers slowly. Tin moved a little, and kissed Ferric's forehead. Ferric's arms wrapped around Tin's waist, and he sighed slightly in Tin's ear. All of a sudden, Ferric pushed away from Tin so hard, Tin fell on his back. Tin jumped back to his feet and quickly looked in Ferric's eyes. It's that same look! The look he gave me before! "You f**king...you...," Ferric's voice was shaking slightly. "You...! What the hell kind of...of...question is that?!" Tin looked down at his feet. The look is nearly gone... "I don't know. It's one you won't answer." Ferric threw his athame at Tin, and Tin just barely dodged it going through his heart. "Why the f**k would I care, or you care, if I was lonely?! I don't care! I don't give a shit! It doesn't matter," Ferric yelled, then charged at Tin, and pushed him against the wall. Pain shot through Tin's back, but he smiled anyway, and rested his hand on Ferric's. Time seemed to stand still for a moment as they looked into each other's eyes--Ferric angrily, Tin sympatheticaly. Ferric punched Tin in the face, breaking his nose, and then disappeared. Sorry if there's any symbols...I tried...to fix them...I can't post anymore, sorry...I'm really, really sick...I'm sorry...I'll try! :o |
Chapter Four-Auribus Teneo Lupum ("I hold a wolf by the ears")
"Boss Amos wants you to attend," Domenikos was saying, as Ferric fidgeted with a silver tribal ring on his thumb. "F**k Amos. I mean, come on. He piles me up with 7 targets and expects me to attend a little formal ass-kissing party, too? He knows I hate shit like that," Ferric said tonelessly. Domenikos sighed. "Are you at least going to try to off them all tonight?" Ferric stopped fidgeting with his ring and stood up to stretch. "No." Domenikos threw his hands up in surrender. "Ferric!" "What? Okay, all right, fine. I'll off most of them. Happy now?" "Like you'd care if I wasn't," Domenikos replied, shaking his head wearily. "That's the spirit!" Ferric said with a smile and disappeared. Ferric reappeared outside of a dark house. He heard rustling behind him, and immediately threw two kunai at the source of the noise. There was a small meow, then nothing. Ferric walked over to investigate and watched as a grey cat turned into a light-haired woman in her 30s. He jabbed her with his foot. "Dead. Target one down. Eliza Mooris," Ferric said, waiting a moment for Raemis to appear before disappearing. This time, he was in a dimly lit room. "Who the hell're you?" A husky voice asked, drawing closer to Ferric. He had dark skin and black eyes. "Death, nice to meet you," Ferric replied, punching the guy in the stomach, then kneeing him in the groin. The guy fell to the ground, the vanished. Ferric rolled his eyes, and mumbled "I hate when they run." A second later, the guy reappeared behind Ferric, and Ferric spun around and thrust his elbow forward into the guy's nose. Blood splattered everywhere. The guy retaliated by catching Ferric with a side kick. Ferric pulled an athame from a sheath near his collarbone, disappeared, then reappeared behind the guy. He stabbed him in the back, right in the side where it would cause his appendix to tear open, and twisted the athame firmly. The guy fell to the ground, and for good measure, Ferric ripped the athame out and plunged it through the man's heart. "Target two down. George Kiel," Ferric said, and waited a few seconds. Raemis appeared again with a sly smile. He bent and lifted George's dead body off the ground. "You're working fast tonight," he said. Ferric nodded, and was gone again. He appeared back at his apartment. "I never lie." Tin's voice came into Ferric's mind, and he smashed his fist into the wall, making a small dent. Son of a bitch! Ferric ran his hands through his hair. What the hell is the matter with that guy? Ferric thought. No, I'm not going to think about it. Ferric sighed, and walked into the kitchen. The next target is who again? Ferric picked up the list Domenikos had written for him. Eliza Mooris--cat shapeshifter--39West Cott Street, Michigan. George Kiel--demon--apartment #12 Upotein Apartments--Cairo, Egypt. Daron Groves--human--26 Sunny Drive佑alifornia. Hiro Watagashi and Ayuki Watagashi--vampires--locale 1679--Kanagawa--Japan. Martin Barriera--wolf form night permanence--location latitude 42, longitude 8--Spain. Tin Vittorio Adeuzo--vampire--locale 47--London--England. Ferric's heart skipped a beat. "Are you...lonely...?" Tin's words crept back into Ferric's mind. What does he mean? Why would I be lonely? People never leave me alone. Can't be lonely if I'm not alone. What a stupid question! Besides, it wouldn't matter anyway. I have a job, and it happens to be killing people. There's no room for anything else. It's not like that, though...but I always have Domenikos and Raemis, and I always will. Like I said--can't be lonely if I'm not alone, and those two guys are always around. This guy is nuts! Always smiling and laughing at me; it pisses me off!Ferric disappeared, and reappeared in front of a huge house. It was twilight here, in California. There was a light on upstairs. Ferric went to that room in the blink of an eye. A boy was sitting at a desk, writing. He looked to be no more than 17. He had sandy hair and long fingers, which were writing furiously. The floor creaked under one of Ferric's feet, and Daron turned around. "Come to kill me, demon?" The boy asked fearlessly. "I knew it was coming sooner or later," he sighed. Ferric gave the boy a strange look. "You're human, and so young. The hell'd you do to get them to want you dead? If you don't mind my asking before I go ahead and kill you." He smiled and put down his pen. "I'm writing about you. Demons, I mean. I've published compromising pictures and stories proving the existence of the Parallel. This Amos guy--big head demon--is not too thrilled with me. He told me if I continued that I was going to get killed." "And so you are. I'm feeling a bit nice tonight, so, is there any way in particular you'd like me to kill you?" Daron smile again, then turned to look out the window. "I guess I'd like to drown in that lake." "You want me to drown you," Ferric said slowly, then shrugged. "Take my hand," he said, extending his arm. The boy stood up and placed his hand on Ferric's, then they disappeared to the edge of the dark blue lake. "Thank you," Daron said strangely. "I haven't got anyone to live for." Ferric gently lifted Daron up in his arms and reappeared in the middle of the lake, letting Daron go and disappearing back to the edge of the water. He watched as the young boy calmly slipped under the surface of the water. Ferric was silent for a moment before speaking. "Raemis, come." Raemis appeared at Ferric's side. "Why ever did you call me?" Raemis asked curiously, taking Ferric's hand in his own and letting their arms drop back down at their sides, his fingers curled into Ferric's. "Daron Groves is at the bottom of the lake," Ferric said distantly, keeping his hold of Raemis' hand. He wanted to hold it, just this once. He didn't like the way Daron's words swam through his mind. "What? You've got to be kidding me. That means I've gotta get wet ," Raemis sighed, but it was not an annoyed sigh. He turned to look at Ferric. "Why the sad face, dearest?" "I haven't got anyone to live for" is what the boy had said. It weighed heavily in Ferric's mind. Who do I have to live for? Who am I kidding, that's such a stupid thought!"It's nothing. This boy was just weird," Ferric replied, tightening his hand around Raemis'. Raemis smiled, surprised. For a while, they stood like that, staring out over the water, until Ferric disappeared. Back at his apartment, Ferric layed down on his bed. He closed his eyes, and soon fell into a dream of the past. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Git off the ground, Ferric!" Amadeus yelled, grabbing Ferric's small arm. "I...don't...wanna...," Ferric sobbed, tears flowing down his face. Amadeus slapped him. "Quit yer crying! Act like a man, not a little girl!" Ferric wiped his eyes and stood up. "Yes, sir." "Better. Now git in there an' git yer punishment. Boys who run away need to be taught a lesson. Personally, I wouldn't mind one way or the other if all y'all little f**kin' pests up an’ died, but rules is rules," Amadeus spat, shoving Ferric into the cell and slamming the door shut, throwing Ferric in total darkness. "Ten hours in solitary, then you git yer whippings. The third time you run away, I'll start puttin' you in the ring. O' course, you'll have to kill yer little friend Joseph first," Amadeus laughed harshly, and Ferric listened to his foot steps fade away. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Ferric awoke with a start, cold and thirsty. I did run away again...Ferric thought, climbing out of bed. And I killed Joseph...I had to...But Amadeus and my mother got what they deserved when I killed them. Besides, none of that matters anymore. That was a long time ago. Ferric got a glass of water and sat on the couch. "Are you...lonely...?" Maybe that's not such a stupid question after all... |
