Drawings/Sketches From The Great

The title is a Joke just to lure people You Fine People ;)

Anyways here are a couple of sketches yet to be finish. I have a problem with finishing things. Lack of patience, I suppose.
I still do not have any titles for any of them. Recommendations are fine, Comments, Critisms, and Advice would be nice.

[And I still need a scanner, they cost money you know. So bare with me and the crappy-ness of the pictures. Thank you]

I will post more later.

Miyavifan 08-06-2009 04:47 PM

I really like the first one, but the jaw seems a little too square, or something. I don't think it fits him.
That's my only criticism.

Miyavifan, thanks for the point out. There is always something wrong. I will fix that.

Jacob, lol thanks. ;)

Sblegach 08-06-2009 04:58 PM

Well your title worked cause im here xD It isnt bad, I agree with Miyavifan though, on the first sketch his jaw looks a bit too square >_> He's human not a polygon xD Then again its a 'sketch' gotta remind myself its unfinished. Nice start, keep up the good work.

Edit: Also do you use guidelines to draw? Cause they can help, they help me a lot I know that much ^_^

I'll get to thinking of names! you do realize it will probably be an Asian name.... maybe even Korean?

ah, ok. (read above, as to how I didn't know. :o)

Pexster 08-06-2009 05:30 PM

Jacob, you sure can.

Miyavifan, Welcome. :) lol okay whatever satisfies you and me.
I will probably like what you give me. And Korean name would be great.

Koreans ftw

you could name it....Jihoon =)

Pexster 08-06-2009 05:38 PM

Lol, Jihoon? you would like that.

GTJ 08-06-2009 05:38 PM

Some advice:

1) Don't worry about titles for your drawings. ;)
2) Do life drawing. Do a LOT of life drawing. Drawing from your imagination or a picture is okay, but if you want to improve you need to sit down in front of something and draw it. People, places, objects... still lifes will help you with your form, texture, and rendering technique, and drawing models or people around you (especiall if it's transient, because then you have to draw quickly) will help develop your muscle memory as well as give you a better understanding of the theory of how people are put together. In other words, anatomy.

Oh, and get an art student's anatomy book. They help a ton.

Keep drawing! Fill several pages of a sketchbook a day with life drawings if you can.

Pexster 08-06-2009 05:50 PM

GTJ, Thanks for the advice, and trust me I tried on the people and objects. Im still having problems with it.
And yes I know 'Practice makes perfect'

Pexster 08-06-2009 05:51 PM

lol I like Suju and Jihon.

I don't know, jacob, what were you thinking?

Miyavifan 08-06-2009 05:52 PM

you do know when I say SuJu I'm talking about Super Junior, right?

anyway... I'm still thinking.

Pexster 08-06-2009 05:57 PM

Practice doesn't make perfect. It makes better. It makes doesn't-suck-quite-as-badly-as-before.

And no, you didn't "try" on people and objects. You don't just draw some family members and some apples and get better at art. You do it over and over again for most of your natural life if you want to get anywhere.

That is, of course, only if you're actually serious about improving in the least.
