The Goodnight Poem -
11-24-2009, 10:48 AM
I have been around for hours as I read and study. Now it is time to sleep. I will leave all of you with this corny poem I wrote the other day:
What a dream to hold you close
So close to be seen as one
With our beings intertwined
As two rivers join and run
I would trap you in my eyes
With a gaze of deepest love
Amber heart, blue butterfly
Lonely world, to be free of
Lasting long into the night
Restless as the gentle sea
Clearest image cast in mind
Though so far you can’t be seen
Expectation brought me here
As I woke with you not next
Turn as if to find you near
Of the dream there’s nothing left
Tears have fallen as before
Leaves of autumn dropped in red
Searching for what spring adorns
Though now all is done and said
In short seasons will return
Feeling pure as winter sprout
So fret not my dearest love
Carry on without a doubt
With your foot steps light and high
Keep your chin from drooping low
For the happiness we’ll find
Will not come to quickly go
Catching spirits in the night
Slipping from my palms like sand
Will for now have to suffice
For our dream is close at hand
ごきげんよう
