How important is height to J-girls
 

Hello,
I am coming to Japan shortly and was wondering how important height was to Japanese girls. In China, when I was there, I found that height was the most important thing that girls looked for. how important is height in Japan and how tall do most girls like boys to be. I am 172cm, and in China was constantly told that I was short. In China, most girls seemed to like boys 178-180cm. Is this also the case in Japan? What do you think most girls prefer in terms of boys height?

well, basically, girls love men who are taller than them. so, i am 1,89 meters tall, and the girls who know me and know this, like this too. as usual most men like smaller girls then. :D

I agree with you. It's sort of like a dog and his master... It sort of makes a man feel not-so-dominant if a girl is taller.

I'm a tall girl, and all of my guy-friends are shorter than me for some reason, and are totally inferior to me. They never try to pick a fight with me because I can totally beat them. Good ole height and weight lifting! I get more respect because I'm tall.

no actually not. you are still at this topic, and you are right. i mean, i would be too weak to really harm anyone, but if you are tall, you really look stronger,w hich most girls like, and japanese girls are not so tall as i heard. also the persian girls are pretty small. but this does not matter. the better for you, if you wanna find a smaller girl than you. :D

I mean, I honestly beat my guy-friends in arm wrestling. Men are naturally supposed to be stronger, but it's pretty crazy. I always ask my friends what they think makes an attractive girl, and most of them say that they like girls that are shorter than them.

But, people never purposely try to piss me off because I'm scary when I'm mad because I'm taller than lots of guys. It's funny, but a good feeling. I've been told by my friends that too.

it is good to be tall, you are right. i like it too. and what guys find so nice at smaller girls is, that they are cuter, anyway! :D being smaller than them makes them cuter for us. :D like the member Sainth and us. well not the best thing here now, but we are a couple now, and she is really smaller than me, which makes her cuter for me. :D
and anyway, i guess japanese girls really love taller guys. because i know some girls who really were impressed by my height. lol. :D

I've been trying to be cuter lately and guys always say that taller girls aren't cute. lol. But... I don't get what's so cute about being shorter? Is it because girls look more innocent???

Ahh. I like guys who are taller than me. A lot of my upperclassmen are taller than me and a lot of them are cute.

I'm not fluent German, but I'm going into German two this upcoming year and I have a four year plan for high school for German, two years for Spanish, and one year for French or Chinese along with my English class.

I've only dated women shorter than me. I'm 185cm so I tend to be taller than most women.

Would I date someone taller than myself? I wouldn't rule it out.

I like guys that are taller than me because I feel like they would protect me if they needed to. (I believe in traditonal roles, so maybe that's just me.) Maybe guys like shorter/smaller girls because they feel like they are manly and need to protect them.

have you ever watched "lovely complex"? it's a cool anime. the story is about a guy - shorter than the girl, but the girl loves him so much, and she tried for a quite long time to get his love. :D

I don't agree. I prefer guys to be shorter than me, but to be honest I don't really care. It doesn't overly matter, and if all a girl is interesting in is your height then you don't want to be interested in girls like that. It's all down to personal preference, you can't really say that all females like one thing.

That's really nice to read, Misa! We are already living in a very shallow world and it's not getting better. It's good to know that not everyone is that superficial nowadays. Of course it's okay to have specific preferences but if you sort everybody out who doesn't fit in, you may miss your true love. I personally don't care if a girl is taller or shorter than me. I don't care if she is bigger or slimmer than me. In the end, it comes down to emotions. The body withers with the time but your emotions will last forever.

Japanese women like taller men than them, but isnt that what all women like. :D :D :D

This is what iv always thought i dont think iv ever met a girl that said she wanted a guy shorter than her. Im tall so iv never had to experience that to meet a girl taller than me would be a rare site. Would I date a girl taller than me absolutely.:)

I have a preference for tall men. I wouldn't like dating someone shorter than me, but in no case does it mean that would stop me from having a relationship with a short guy if I really liked him.

Average height of Japanese men and women:

Men: 170cm / ~5'5"
Women: 158cm / ~5'2"

That's about 10 cm shorter than the average height of Westerners.

Oh my i thought the average height for a male in Japan was at least 5'7" im 6'1" 1/2. no wonder i got stares when i was there lol

It's an AVERAGE (seriously people... if you bothered to turn up to high school maths then you'd know how averages work) and 10cm isn't much.

If you're white, height doesn't matter. Japanese girls for some reason are really into white guys. I went over there for a year and I saw some of the ugliest American men in my life having success with women. It kind of irritated me a bit because they look like they never talked to a woman outside of Japan.

3 guys who never kissed a girl or never had a girlfriend before had gotten a girlfriend in Japan in less than 2 months. I think that the obsession with America in Japan makes American guys (or white guys in general) more appealing. Well, of course most Japanese girls prefer Japanese men but the minority who like foreign guys come on really strong. I'm sorry if this post sounds negative but I've seen it with my own eyes.

Unfortunately, if you're a woman in Japan you will not have the same luck. Japanese guys are so intimidated by foreign women.

I'm 1,87... and it's rare to find gals taller than me woot~ and I'm 16 lawl. I'm on a basket team so yeah that's normal for basketball bodies :p.

I don't want girls to be taller, else I can't cover them x3... the smaller they are the easier it is. But uhm, if a tall girl is attractive, she gets on eyes of guys more ;o...
