confidence is sexy, so is social skills, he should try talking to other girls and other guys aswell, not sucking up but standing up for things he belives in.

like he says hes interested in manga, talk about it but maybe about other aspects than techniques or womens bra sizes, favorite artists or sth might be a better idea =P
