It's almost impossible for me to write one since I even can't write normal English sentence. I'll be an observer here

Cute. It reminds me of one I wrote once about building stage sets with a boyfriend. I will have to dig it out and post it.

This is not what anyone probably expected since we were discussing poems to lovers, but this the one Tipsygypsy's one about melting reminded me of.

Pasted Chickenwire

Sitting above everyone on the scaffold,
Dropping paste over all.
Could there be more paste on me
Than on the framework of the set?

Look out below?
No, it wasn't a bird.
Be glad!

I wonder how I'll get down
After all,
I'm pasted to to this wall.

.............

I threathened to stay there until "Prince Charming" rescued me - which he eventually did.

I do not posses
No, I do not posses
the heart beating in my chest
belongs to one
and only one
it belongs to you.

The love I feel
just from hearing your name
cannot be measured
except by one standard
the love I feel
from hearing your name
can be compared to
the love I feel
when I look in your eyes

I would swim the largest ocean
and climb the tallest mountain
walk the longest trail
just to see you smile
one last time
before we drift off to sleep.

All dedicated to my love Kyoko

Longer verses can come tomorrow, I just wrote these now, it can probably show :vsign:

This is the best tribute I ever came across.

i like chicken wire very much. ending was unexpected

also the starkness/brevity and depth of ryuurui's poems. no wasted words--

love this also. it is like a song.

my favourite love song is "the rose" sung by bette midler.

"The Rose"

Some say love, it is a river
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you its only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
that never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
who cannot seem to give,
and the soul afraid of dyin'
that never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been to long,
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong,
just remember in the winter
far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed that with the sun's love
in the spring becomes the rose.

The Rose
As sung by Bette Midler
Music and Lyrics by Amanda McBroom

Amanda McBroom's The Rose
interesting item about the song here.

my love is like a mantle
that you with warmth surrounds
so when you're feeling lonely
desolate or blue
remember wrapped around you
is a love that's strong and true.

A New One..

So I Wrote This One Two Days Ago, Feed Back Would Be Cool.

Suddenly, I Saw A Rose.

Gentle, Enticing, Not Fully Grown.

Attatched, I Grew, Softly, Sweetly, Just Like The Rose.

For A Moment, This I Knew, You'd Be With Be, Forever More.

So Quiet My Cries, And Into Forever Dive.

Alone, Except For The Enchanting Rose.

Picturing You, And The Moment Comes So Softly I Feel Alone.

When A Dove Comes To Claim That Rose, I'll Be Free.

You Will Be A Pleasant Memory.

So Continue To Grow, My Sweet Enchanting Rose.

Guide Me To Be Free.

Roses are Red
Violets are blue
I've got a gun
Get in the Van.
