Well in this case, whatever you do do not tell her about your feelings (not just yet) or you will freak her out.

Women like to be intrigued, and pick-up lines from the "Standard book of spells, chapter I How to convert a cold bird into a fire phoenix in one single wand swish" will most likely not work. If it does, the girl is not worth the time (but thats only my opinion).

So, instead of telling her to becomes your friend try to find out about her through convrsation. Perhaps you will discover a common topic or interest you both have. I would also steer clear of pretending that you have something in common, If she finds out, you are a dead duck, stripped out of trust like a dancer in Las Vegas on a busy Friday night.

In anyway, if you reveal all (yor feelings and assets, the good and the bad, etc) at the beginning you will become too boring to get wet for (especially mentally wet). Women like things to be untold, unfinished and blurred (to a point) which drags them deeper into the world of interest you are creating, like a bee to a pot of strawberry jam.

Do not be cunning, be yourself. That is the most important thing. If she likes you for what you are, she will reveal herself to you (emotionally).

well,,,,you know her name, but you don't know much about her right? in that case, talk to her at school cafeteria. look for her having lunch or munch. and ask her jus like "Can I sit next to you/in front of you?" and start some general conversation. It'll be much easier to have laid back talk when eating something. Be nice n' sincere when you talk to a lady. and don't be too nervous or suspicious.

Don't be afraid to take risks
Be their friend and let it flow naturally :)

So you have something in common to begin with right? Just start out with small talk and be yourself. Do you have any projects your class is working on? Maybe you could invite her out someplace to discuss the project.

Observe her and see if she looks at you. When you talk to her, and I have faith that you will, see how she reacts. Don't be put off if she doesn't act how you think she will, she may be shy. Us girls can be shy when guys approach us too.

Mostly, listen to her and what she she has to say. If you don't agree with something she says just politely say it's not your thing. Best not to fake it. But if you do have the same likes, great! Then you can compliment her on her hair or whatever.

Well, I have not done this in a long time myself...but let me try...

"Hi (and say her name), I would like to take you for a short walk and talk to you about something".

Note: Please keep in mind that you need to have something to talk about.

Theres no formula from a textbook on how to talk to a girl. Each conversation would be different, you kinda have to think on your toes know what I mean. Just say hi and be yourself. If the conversation starts to flow then she prolly likes you.
