I say yes because if timezones stop a mod being online then you can't ask them to stay up till 3am till the next one comes on, I go college so if I was expected to stay up to 3 then I couldn't do it. Mods in different timezones is a plus because there will naturally be online.

Ta Da! i knew there were more then one of these threads.. i just posted in IamKira's thread and then i find this one too ;)

Yeah, I think there should be more mods than one in each time zone. 24 mods is not enough!!!!!!!!111111111:mtongue:

I just thought I'd note...one of the forums I mod for has 5 mods (including myself). It's MUCH larger than this forum...but all the same...as a forum grows, it's administration should grow with it. If these forums are having problems, additions to the administration isn't a bad thing.

That's if though.

...and if there's problems that can't get resolved for a day because the mods have lives, well, it won't be the end of the world.

Schedules for the mods are a bad idea. A mod on the opposite side of the world wouldn't be bad, but comeon, these people do have lives. This forum isn't their job, they're not getting paid for it. Frankly, if an admin slapped me down with a shift at one of my other boards, it'd probably run me off the forum. Mods do as much as they can; don't force them to do more.

My 2¥.

Just gonna throw this out there. I am awake pretty much all night long so if your looking for someone that is on from say 10PM to 7AM that would be me. However I did miss the posts!!

I agree, there shouldn't be too many mods in here.

Funny story really: I had this mod who was going through some sort of emotional breakdown and she deleted a bunch of posts.  I'm a feminist but seriously - there should be more male mods than female mods on a forum.:mtongue:

Shaelyn 07-24-2007 10:39 PM

you're gonna base your entire opinion of female/male ratio based on one incident? >.> If you're gonna say that, I could say the exact opposite b/c of the smacktalk board on another forum I go to...and it's usually one of the admins that starts the topics there. both the admins are male.

just saying, don't let one experience with one board make your decision.

You thread necromancer! :D I agree that we might need an additional one. Did anyone come to any conclusion yet? :o..Im online during weekdays at work from 08.30 till 17.00 GMT+1 time. I'm available if you need a mod for that timeframe.

new suggestion:)

Hahaha! I've got it! Why don't we move some of the moderators to Australia?!
By the time I log on at night no-one else is on and it is very lonely:( This would give time to clear up any nasties:D
