Yeah a shoutbox would be sweet but we dont have many registered users online at once, almost like irc.. a shoutbox wouldnt work with 3 or 4 registered users online :)

It's a box for chat.It's similiar like when you're replying.
type your name,your message,and submit..... :D

But,everyone can speak anything,or just shout meaningless things :D

I don't think this is a good idea.
why? for the simple reason that anyone can say something in it. You don't need to register to post a comment in the forum, so in that sense, a shoutbox already becomes useless. and a lot of users don't bookmark japanforum.com, but start from japanforum.com/forum. so they won't even see the box.

good suggestion, but i don't think it would work out in this situation. :)

make this forum more attractive and more interactive

I thinks this is a very good idea.
because I do notic that many people are starting chat in any Thread, and mostly Posts(chat) are not related to the Tread.
but when we will have a Shoutbox then all chatters will go to the Shoutbox and the Treads will only get all the answers that are just related to that Tread.
I hope you will understand that.

we already have a derail thread for randomness... a shoutbox would just divert from the actual forum, and would be anbother thing to have to watch for us poor lil mods :p
