Reform the forum's administration / re-create it?
 

I Think I've said it before, but only a few might have read it:
Would the current mods consider renewing the administration (i.e. a new server with someone active as the main administrator)?

This would be something helpful for everyone since mayor changes to the site would be possible, i.e. reducing the spam with third party help, modifying components of the vBulleting software and so on...

What are the reasons this wouldn't be possible, if that's the case?
What do other users think about this idea?

I am not trying to disrupt anything, but since you've stated many times the main owner isn't here anymore, wouldn't it make sense to re-create the forum with a new administration?

I am currently looking into this... Things have gotten way too depressingly frustrating to deal with here.

The biggest wall is the money factor. I have no idea how the absent admins are paying for this site, but with the level of traffic received here I assume it cannot be free.

How about taking donations to start up? or would the maintenance costs be too high as well?

Another option could be using a free phpbb forum, but I really, don't know if that would be acceptable for people...
