automated pm on registering

I remember when I used different forums that, upon registering, I got a "hi ! welcome to this forum " automated pm. I have no idea how advanced this forum is (though it seems to be quite advanced) these days but would it be possible upon registering for that new user to receive an automated PM about the forum rules and perhaps the link to the introduce yourself thread? That would save a lot of thread deletion

you get that automated email upon registering; maybe the msg could be edited to include that.
