Nara Deer V.S. Miyajima Deer - 02-15-2009, 11:59 PM

Is it just me or are the deer in Miyajima noticeably more aggressive? Maybe they're hungrier.

I don`t know what the Miyajima deer did to you, but I find it hard to imagine them being more violent than those at Nara. They freaking ripped my clothes, and I ended up having to run with son in arms to safety.

If those at Miyajima are worse... I`ll have to remember to NEVER go there.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

LOL, I've been to both places, and they seemed about equal in aggro to me. However, the nice thing about Nara is that it's usually pretty crowded with people who want to feed the deer, so when they go after you, you can run toward some others who still have food and it'll distract them. Miyajima, on the other hand, had relatively few people when I was there, which means no other targets to distract them...

Ahaha this is hilarious... I actually got bit by a deer in Nara and Miyajima, both leaving a big red bruise (like a blood-blister)... they ripped my tickets and almost made off with my passport...

There are just fewer places to hide in Miyajima.

I know I've posted this before somewhere... - 02-16-2009, 04:03 AM

I think I'll wrap this thread up with a comic I made to illustrate the attack in Nara...

It was very similar to this-- I stayed true to reality, kinda.

There are some deer from each location... the middle picture on the left shows a swarm of the creatures on Miyajima driven to a blood frenzy and surrounding their hapless victim...

I've been to both places, but I think the Nara Deer are much fatter and cleaner than that of Miyajima

Sorry to beat a dead thread with a stick, but has anyone bowed to the deer in Nara?

If you bow they bow back, but they immediately expect one of those crackers or they get confused.

If you don't believe me, I have documented proof
