People would think I'm weird and probably make fun of me. For these reasons: I'm American, and I live in America. The style here is sooo boring! I love the way harajuku looks. It's so different and cool looking! I just wish people would accept clothing/hair styles over here.
Should I take the chance and dress harajuku/japanese style?

You can't really change a person's opinion on something
there are gonna be people who don't like it and then there are also gonna be people who like/love it i say you just go with what you want and if people give you shit just brush it off and don't let it phase you one bit... EDIT: i live in the US too so i know how you feel zakuro iro... toge wo sashite anata wa kieru

people are gonna hate it and people are gonna love it...that also includes your fam... my family members harass me all the time cuz i wear a lot of black and listen to heavy metal and what not but i still do it reguardless of what they say cuz i like it (i mean i have changed a bit but only cuz i wanted to) zakuro iro... toge wo sashite anata wa kieru

Yeah, Robo-Chan is right! I'm getting together some goth loli stuff and I'm petrified about what people are going to think, but I'll do it. I think I'll wear one of my skirts with a shirt that says "Haters make me famous" It's a good motto!

well... I dressed yesterday harajuku style (A dress i made by myself inspired by harajuku) I got LOTS of stares and comments (because they have a bad attitude here towards everything japanese) but I think I got stares more because of my friend ^^;; She had this gothic lolita dress and looked like she was going to funeral...

I always thought the US was more open about stuff than here in the UK, although probably depends on the state aswell. And haha, as for thee family, they slag me off everyday for the way I dress ( I a semi-joking way...I think) although my dad completely hates it, but I don;t live with him so it's fine. But yeh, as cliche as it sounds "be yourself" otherwise you'll ruin your life by always being paranoid/conscious about what other people are going to say. And besides, you won't know what they'll say if you don;t test it first ; )
