I like subtitles the most. The Japanese voice actors really put in a lot of effort to make a character sound good, whereas most (but I'll admit not all) English voice actors don't really make a character come alive. I agree with the person that described them as being "Monotonous".

Haha, Shadow got pwned. Now this certainly made my day more interesting.
On topic. I always prefer the dubs, because that way I can concentrate on the details of the anime I'm watching. With subs you're not able to do it because you got to look at what's written in the subs every second a character says something otherwise you might miss an important detail in the picture or the plot. Another things would be, is that not all subs are translated correctly. |

Only the Inuyasha, Advent of the Children and Death Note dub were enjoyable for me. 'I take a potato chip... and EAT IT!' best dubbed sentence ever xD
The rest made me facepalm more or less. Especially the 4kids One Piece dub. Stay away from that horrible thing. If you ask me, it's perfectionism that makes the Japanese dub much better. I'm not saying every dub in another language is very bad, it's just the lacking effort that usually has been put in the voices (I'm sure that already has been said in the topic, but oh well). |

Try getting facts right before trying to join in with our in-joke. Topic: Raw Japanese is far more exciting and rewarding! A) your learning a second language - passive studying. B) You don't miss half the action cuz your too busy reading whats written at the bottom of the screen. C) You don't have to listen to god awful over emphasized American accents. |
