anime - manga - 03-07-2008, 12:32 PM

Can somebody tell me what is the difference please ? - i really have no idea !

Anime is the Japanese word for animation and Manga is the Japanese word for comic.

Sorry friend, but manga is written, printed comics. You can't watch manga. You watch anime and read manga. You may have seen a manga's anime adaptation, though.

i watched stuff like AKIRA and GRAVE OF THE FIRLEFLIES nd other stuff - here in the uk we just call them manga cartoons !

Like nightchid said, you watch anime and read manga.

When I was new to Anime, I used to refer to it as manga as I didn't know what was the difference so I think the same thing is happening to you.

Edit: If you found that too long to read then just read the first para.

And please, don't double post, if you have anything to add, just edit your previous post.

1) so akira - is actually anime and not manga ?

You need to do that manually.

Akira can be both a manga and anime character. Actually most of the anime are adapted from manga.
