What's your favorite type of manga?

I love shojo! I like shonen but not as much as shojo because it's just too much action and some do not seem like they have any sense, except to fight but still...what are the other two I haven't heard of them, probably seen them but never know them.

Seinen series are usually geared towards adult males, and usually have a lot of fan service. Of course not all Seinen series have a lot of fan service, just seems that way. One series that comes to mind as being a Seinen series is Chobits.

Jousei works are those aimed at adult women or teenage girls. They usually deal with everyday life things and is more realistic compared to shojo manga. A few series that come to mind for me, is Gokusen, Hachimitsu to Kurooba (Honey and Clover), and Kimi wa Pet (My Pet), which is known here in the states as Tramps Like Us.

One series that comes to mind as being a Seinen series is Chobits.

I guess that horror manga or works like Monster and MPD Psycho are also Seinen? And manga for office workers based on Golf or Mahjong would be Seinen also, as well as the fan service stuff?

The word 'Seinen' then seems to cover such a vast spectrum of tastes that by trying to describe too much it doesn't really describe anything.

i like all of those genres ^-^" Fruits Basket, Bleach, Gantz, and Sukisho. but i guess i'll say my absolute favorite is Josei, cuz i really love yaoi

Could someone explain to me what shojo, shonen, seinen and jyosei mean? What kind of genre are they? Some examples would be nice too

My vote goes for Seinen, I kind of hate Shoujos because they're to girly, I'm not a big fan of Shounens because they're kind of childish in there one way and I haven't seen much Josei series.

Sure thing, Shounen and Shoujo are mangas/animes intended for teenagers(Shounen for boys and Shoujo for girls, as the names indicate), examples of such series are Naruto (Shounen) and Fruit Basket(Shoujo).
Josei and Seinen are mangas/animes intended for older people (Seinen for men and Josei for woman), examples of such series are Gantz (Seinen) and Honey and Clover (Josei).
And there is another category that isn't listed here, Kodomo which is intended for children, example of a Kodomo series is Hamtaro.

I don't know if does two can be consider Shounens, since Evangelion as a very mature theme and Akira is way to violent to be considered Shounen.
