I don't think its officially said what happens when people who live in soul society die but in the movie it talked about reincarnation and how the people in soul society eventually get reincarnated in the human world so maybe when people die in soul society their spirit automatically gets sent to earth and they get reincarnated sooner or something.

wait, now that u mention it what happened to Kaien, did he get reincarnated as ichigo? lol. i guess since the soul society isn't heaven i guess u just go there. id rather live on earth that the soul society, i mean those ppl in the ss were worst then ppl oh earth.

but if you are reincarnated, you may not even come back as a human..
for me, I think its a 2 way system, otherwise it wouldnt balance out the real world an ss. also, I think reading all the manga up to chapter 291(current latest chapter released ) will answer one or 2 questions:P Bankai

IT'S A POT HOLE!!!! it's one of those things were the creator in this casr tite kubo didn't think about. it just kindda lingers there. it's like thinking about where was god before the earth, he was just there. from the begining of time. then u try to think how far back is that but u never can get there. AH! thinking about it too much makes my brain hurts.
